Apple /// drives are allegedly pretty speed sensitive, though I (to date) haven't had to adjust the ones I've use.

@6lr61 @paulhagstrom If it comes up with RETRY and an arrow, you're good. That's the expected behavior when there's no disk to boot. The machine MUST boot from the internal floppy, there is no provision for booting from a hard drive. So if the disk drive is dirty/broken you can't get too far.

@6lr61 @paulhagstrom Nice. And, hm. Well, There are many things to think about. Honestly, I'd probably just power it on and see if anything fails and try to troubleshoot from there. (Though the power supply could pop, and it smells if it does. But they are replaceable: reactivemicro.com/product/univer… )

@Drop_III_Inches Never heard of the Booti before, looks interesting. I did just find that it might be possible to use a Sider hard drive. I use a Sider card & scsi2sd on a II+, I'll have to see if I can get a scsi2sd working on the III. apple.asimov.net/documentation/…
