Help me out here with a debate happening elsewhere: I have a very strong recollection that when "Galactica 1980" began, it was as a special, with no real talk of it being a new series. It might've been a one-off movie (later broken into parts, as they did the 3-hour premiere of the original Galactica) or it might have been a three-part episode from the start, but I remember it being called "Galactica Discovers Earth." And not just the episode title(s) but right there on the show title card itself, as the name of the show or movie. And it being called that in TV Guide. Further, I recollect when the series itself came along afterward, it was called Galactica 1980. And that was a new title. I do realize that the version you can watch now has been altered from that, but I'm talking about the original broadcast on ABC in 1980. Can anyone corroborate this?
