On App Store Pulse you can: - Track your keywords' ranking on the Shopify App Store - Track competitors' listing updates - Have keyword suggestions - Have Keywords your competitors rank for that you don't - Analyze your app listing to improve it - Get emerging, crowded, saturated, etc categories and an analysis - Create reports with new app launched, % about AI, % of free apps, etc. And soon, Reviews Intelligence to get notified about the biggest complaints and feature opportunities. How can I make App Store Pulse better? What's THE missing feature?

@heynick_shopify Yup, so after all of the data we'll have we'll try to match all the changes of all the apps and see if we can understand a little bit the algorithm

The Wide Event isn't just an event. It's an experience for Shopify Partners 💚 And every year I try to do more. Because I don't believe in simple networking. I want my events to be both entertaining AND valuable. And 2027 will be even more! If you missed this edition, here are some pictures that will make you say, "I'll attend next year"

Technically true but you would still need to: - set up a system to get ALL the reviews every x weeks/months so it actually makes sense - Handle limits (429, etc) - Analyze them with AI afterwards (costs) I mean, you can try to do it by yourself, you may end up with something But it's not a solution you build in 1 hour and let it run Here I'd be selling the fact it's fast and easy

@DsMatie Depends on the cost, as you can do this with AI now.

Would you use a system that analyzes all Shopify app store reviews to identify feature opportunities and understand the market?

@curlydesignz The idea here isn't to get features from your own users It's to surface any needs from the market by looking at the reviews

@DsMatie That's a good idea , but I also like Kaching bundles, how they have built separate sections for feature requests.

@DsMatie Yeah, I'd use it if it surfaces recurring asks and where competitors keep letting people down. Saves me reading 5,000 annoyed reviews myself.

Polsia just raised $30M at a $250M valuation. Approaching $10M annual run rate. One Founder + AI. Zero employees. Polsia runs companies autonomously. It also ran its own fundraising. I just showed up for signatures.

I feel the same. And honestly, I think it happens every time something powerful gets released. We think we’re going to work less because we can move faster. But in reality, we just produce more. And it becomes addictive. It’s like a casino now. You press a button, you get the reward instantly, so you just keep pressing.

As a solo Shopify developer since 2020, people could easily assume that AI made my work lighter. Ironically, in some ways, it’s been the exact opposite for me. Over the past few months, I’ve started struggling with sleep for the first time in my life. My brain just doesn’t seem able to switch off anymore. Before the AI era, I could actually disconnect. I could travel, enjoy weekends, step away from work without constantly thinking about the next feature or project. Now everything moves so fast that I feel permanently “on”. Even on weekends, I end up reopening my laptop, launching Codex or Claude, and finishing “just one more thing”. I genuinely love building with AI and I’m excited by what’s happening right now, but the pace and constant possibilities have changed the way my brain works. Instead of working less, I feel like I’m thinking about work more than ever. And honestly, it’s exhausting sometimes. I’m more tired than before, my sleep is getting impacted, and I’m realizing how difficult it has become to truly disconnect. Curious to know if other solo devs or entrepreneurs are feeling the same lately.

What’s great about our upcoming Reviews Intelligence is that Top Complaints also looks at 5-star reviews. Sometimes support fixed the issue, so the review is positive. But the complaint is still there. And that’s where opportunities are.

More than 2000 new Shopify Apps in May! The Shopify App Store is growing like crazy. 27% mentions AI. The top category is Analytics. (Data by App Store Pulse)

@Krishna_agg_ Shopify does something like that but doesn't show "this feature needs to be built" especially accross all the apps of a category

@DsMatie You mean just like Amazon Ai summarise all the reviews? Shopify should do it natively

@DsMatie Definitely would pay to understand a given App Store vertical. Would love for it to be available via MCP.

@DsMatie I buy brand match + free helping. I don't buy that alone explaining a 2.5 app beating a BFS 4.7 one. That's search weirdness.

Let's imagine this is a normal behavior. What could explain that (but it's still weird) 👇 - Oficjalna has "InPost" in the app developer name - Tale Commerce "lost" 4 reviews - Oficjalna is free (could mean more installs) But would it be enough to justify it?

Patrick Jakubik@patjakubik

I'm #1 in App Store for certain keyword, BFS, 4.7 rating (50 reviews), yet when merchants search using this keyword in the Shopify Admin, they get non-BFS app with 2.5 rating (23 reviews). What the heck? This seems broken.

1. Check for huge spike for reviews for a particular app 2. Flag stores 3. Check for number of reviews given in a day, if it's more then 5 for new apps, it's concerning 4. Newly created stores giving reviews - can be identified a little by date of stores can be checked by product.json api - product createdAtDate These are my opinion, I know it's a little difficult but can create a small ML model for identifying the fake reviews as well.
