@ExpatriationLaw @DualCitizenship Dual citizens living in the US would arguably be affected most precariously if their US citizenship were to be deemed relinquished. It would impact their homes, businesses, and employment in the US, not to mention making their continued presence suddenly "undocumented!"

I understand the impulse to analogize. It’s a powerful tool to help us compare and understand things. @IRS_MEDIC But… Wife = individual human (at least for now lol) you choose Citizenship = legal status created by ephemeral political entity made by politicians, and imposed on individuals. The US has created a "caste" citizenship of citizenship. #Dualcitizens from birth are a "preferred class" of citizens. Those born with ONLY US citizenship (like @TodaysDAR) are "untouchables".
