@TheDaykyri @samikatplays A chronic condition doesn't have a time limit or shelf life, especially ones that cause flare-ups. There's nothing unprofessional when visitors have issues like that, event at press and creator events.

Let me put this in the most respectful way. I fully understand that your illness affects your memory and that forgetting your mouse is so human. What I don’t understand is what happened on day two. I mean, you had two full days of early access, like 15 hours of capture time, and in the end you were only able to upload two six-minute videos. Asking just for curiosity. Last year, when I attended the capture event for The Final Shape, Bungie actually told me, “wow you have the most recording hours out of everyone, so we’ll need extra time to process your gameplay.” I ended up with more than 10 hours of gameplay and I made and uploaded around 30 videos before release. Bungie covers flights, hotel, food, and even gives creators spending money, I’ve always assumed the expectation was to approach these events with a professional mindset and try to produce as much professional content as possible. So I’m wondering if is there something I’m missing about this particular event? With love 💜

You guys want to hear a crazy story? This is the reason I never used any early Renegades story footage in my early access content… When I went to Bungie earlier this month for the Renegades Capture Event, I didn’t realize just how bad my lupus and cognitive issues had gotten, especially my memory. The very first thing I put in my suitcase two nights earlier was my gaming mouse because I play completely by muscle memory and I knew if I didn’t have it, I’d be fucked. Honestly, I do not know how to dodge, reload, crouch, melee, or throw a grenade using the keyboard. Nearly every action is bound to the eleven buttons on my mouse. It’s so bad that earlier this year I was trying to solo a dungeon, but my reload button on my mouse was broken (thanks to my fat cat), and I had to overnight a new mouse so I could play on stream the next day. A big reason I use my mouse so much is because my disease affects my joints so bad, and reaching to various keys isn’t always pleasant. Now it’s just habit. So priority item packed. Checked! I even made sure twice I actually had my profile saved on the mouse. Was NOT going to forget it. So I get to Bellevue, and the next morning I’m so excited and so nervous as I meet my group down in the hotel lobby to walk to Bungie. THIS IS SO COOL!!! We get to the studio, have a brief intro, and head to the playtest studio. FUCK. I forgot my mouse at the hotel. The reason I haven’t used any footage from the story is because I was so bad—and so self conscious—that I was unable to finish the first story mission on standard difficulty. I spent a lot of time in the settings menu trying to bind to their gaming mouse, and then trying to remember those bindings, but I’d instantly forget them. I wrote them down in my notebook hoping a brief glance over would help, but all I did was die, AGAIN, when I looked away. It was awful. I was awful. Everything was awful! The plan was to go grab it at lunch. But lunch was so far away. I wanted to bawl, but of course I’m surrounded by 39 other creators and press, as well as a room full of Bungie devs, so I held it together somehow. I was on the end of the row too, and I knew they could see me struggling. I wasn’t halfway through the first mission while my row mates were on the second… ON LEGENDARY. This is me, the girl who solos endgame content with all bows and no HUD. Me! I inspired Portal modifiers. I’m not bad! I promise! Bungie, I’m not this bad! But oh god, that morning, yes I was. Eventually, an hour or so before lunch, I was gently approached to see if I’d be comfortable giving my hotel room key to one of the Gamesite staff members so they could go get my mouse. FUCK YES I WAS! I wanted to cry at how nice they were, and at how guilty I felt. So I walked down to the lockers with them to grab my hotel room key, and I had forgotten my locker code. Needless to say, I didn’t use any of my story footage because I never actually finished a story mission and I have no fucking clue what’s going on. Actually, I’m still so embarrassed that I haven’t event looked at it. It’s in a folder named “Do Not Use”. The rest of the day was awesome though, and I definitely made up for my skill issues with my all bow badassery. I can say without a doubt, amongst all the fucking drama I brought along, I have never met a more accommodating, understanding, and comforting group of people than those at Bungie and Gamesite. I can never thank them enough. 💜 (Now don’t even get me started on day two.)

@samikatplays I'm sorry to hear about the experience you had here. Please let us know in the future if you ever have an issue, even if it's about food or something you consider to be minor. I promise, we won't be annoyed; we truly want to make you and everyone else feel comfortable here.

@samikatplays This happened to me once. I was so convinced I had one that was just stuck.

I thought I forgot to take my contacts out two nights ago, and tried to take them out last night. I figured they were just really really dry and stuck to my eye. As it turns out, I did take them out two nights ago and I was digging into my eye last night for nothing. 😅 I’m now sitting in a pharmacy waiting for antibiotic eyedrops for an incredibly severe coronial scratch. My fucking god this is terrible. And I have a flight in 6 hours. 😭😭😭 These cognitive issues are starting to get dangerous AF. But hey, now I have my own eye doctor here, I’m established. 👍

I got my master’s while playing games. Served multiple tours overseas when I was active duty while playing games. Got married, wrote music, worked dream jobs, met soul-changing people, all while playing games. Sounds like a skill issue 🤷‍♀️
