@BabesweHunters We must fix not just our roads, but our roads culture. We will sit in an overloaded combi and allow the driver to leave. We will take a video of a driver over speeding so that we can post for likes. We will watch as a bus driver watches videos on his phone

@dr_mairopa You guys do a really good job of saving so many lives
I do know that you guys give your all to each life
Loss of life is regrettable but you would know more than most people that there are many other factors outside your control that affect the outcome
Thank you for your service

Several weeks ago, our Senior Resident called me in to work on a Sunday. She is an organised, competent and compassionate surgeon; when she calls you, you come running. We had to go into emergency surgery with a young boy who was critically ill. We found that the boy had gangrenous bowel and had to remove almost a meter of his intestines. Although the patient made it through the operation, he did not make it through the night. It was a devastating loss. The older I get,the less I am able to handle losses. I stumbled in to work on Monday morning with a heavy heart. My mind was vacant. Professor Mujuru, a Senior paediatrician, was teaching a group of medical students; she stepped away from them and talked to me for 5 minutes. She did not know that I was struggling but that gesture of someone of her capacity taking time to talk to a random person like me was like a balm on my spirit. The weight was immediately lighter and I could go through the day. Being a surgeon comes with some challenging experiences but God sends people to encourage us when our strength falters.

@KingJayZim I can't believe you have done an origins story on April 20
English

“Some say “420” is code among police officers for “marijuana smoking in progress.”Some note 4/20 is also Adolf Hitler’s birthday. And some go as far as to cite Bob Dylan’s song “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35” because 12 multiplied by 35 equals 420.
But, to put it bluntly, those rumors of the history behind how April 20, and 4/20, got associated with marijuana are false.
The most credible story traces 4/20 to Marin County, Calif. In 1971, five students at San Rafael High School would meet at 4:20 p.m. by the campus’ statue of chemist Louis Pasteur to partake. They chose that specific time because extracurricular activities had usually ended by then.
This group — Steve Capper, Dave Reddix, Jeffrey Noel, Larry Schwartz, and Mark Gravich — became known as the “Waldos” because they met at a wall. They would say “420” to each other as code for marijuana.” Time Magazine

Americans are high on marijuana, literally: 88% of U.S. adults believe recreational or medical marijuana use should be legal, according to a 2024 Pew Research Center poll. Over the past two decades, 24 states plus the District of Columbia and Guam have legalized marijuana for recreational use. That means marijuana smokers can smoke more openly than ever before on 4/20—a date that both marijuana smokers and non-smokers recognize as a national holiday for cannabis culture. Yet few actually know how the date got chosen. Read more here: time-magazine.visitlink.me/3b7zIx
