Very long-standing issue with Lazygit has been resolved by the great Stefan Haller. This 'index.lock' error stumped me for years and now it's finally fixed.

@sushii_gu We had telemetry years ago but I stopped it after I freaked out from accidentally creating a botnet that I couldn't turn off haha

given the use cases of lazygit i'd wager people keep their "personal" git versions pretty updated
