The locum pharmacists who remain working in community pharmacy can ask for better rates because that’s how the market works. If your store or company relies solely on locum pharmacists because you cannot employ a full-time pharmacist, then that is not the fault of pharmacists.

There is no ‘pharmacist shortage’. There are thousands of qualified, experienced pharmacists who no longer choose to work in community pharmacies. There was a shortage of respect, proper pay and support staff. The pharmacists simply decided to work elsewhere.
