@CookeSiobhan @Mammals_Suck @tes Due to the licences we are unable share them via CDs or charge a subscription. We put a lot of effort into trying to encourage individual/user donations over the years but there was very little uptake unfortunately.

@Arkive @WildscreenFest A huge shame to hear about this :(, I first heard about Arkive talked about by David Attenborough on TV when it launched, and it kept growing into an ever more impressive resource. Thank you for all the time and effort that was put into it - it'll be missed.

@GreenBrizzle We're 💔 but we've had no funding for c 5 years & we can't keep plugging the gap. We have/are exploring who we can share the material with but the licences are v restrictive. We'll of course keep a safe copy of this amazing record of life on earth offline in perpetuity.

Planet Earth truly is in a mess. Not only losing species at an alarming rate but now also losing one of the best free online sources of facts, films and photos about them. Sad news.

This is absolutely terrible news. @Arkive is an incredible resource. I can imagine that the Trustees have explored every avenue to avoid this, so I guess that's that. A gargantuan loss to those of us who use this amazing resource regularly.
