Joshua Dunayczan 03/30/2026 Dear President Trump, I am writing to you as a proud American from Brookshire, Texas, with a lifelong passion for serving my country in the United States military. From a very young age, I have held an extreme and unwavering interest in joining the armed forces. The values of duty, honor, courage, and selfless service have inspired me throughout my life, and I dream of one day standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the brave men and women who defend our great nation. I recently was declined medically by the Army and navy with a coarctation of the aorta, bicuspid aortic valve with 2 stents holding the aortic valve open. After completing every other step, my waiver was still declined by MEPS for not meeting the military medical standards. Even with my cardiologist clearing me 100% with absolutely ZERO RESTRICTIONS, several clearance letters, as well as a military graded stress test good for any and all military duty’s I was still declined. This deep commitment runs in my family. My uncle proudly served in the United States Army and fought in Iraq in 2003 during the initial stages of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His stories of sacrifice, camaraderie, and dedication to protecting American freedoms have only strengthened my dream to follow in his footsteps and contribute to the strength and readiness of our military. I believe strongly in your vision for a powerful, respected, and well-supported military that puts America First. Under your leadership, our armed forces are being rebuilt and prioritized like never before, and I am eager to be part of that mission—whether through enlistment, service in a specialized role, or any opportunity where I can give my absolute best to this country. Thank you for your tireless efforts to make America great again. I would be deeply honored if you or your administration could look into having leniency with me. I am seeking a way to get into the military despite my medical declination regardless of the medical wavers from my self and my cardiologist. My hope is that as the commander and chief of this great nation, you could leverage your personal connections with the United States Army to allow me into the armed forces.
