The new army of Wuwei
The new Wuwei Army was a new type of army of the Qing court, and the emperor's white armor guards were directly involved in their management and training. Compared with the traditional green battalions and Eight Banners, this new army was better able to cope with the form of warfare that had mainly consisted of trenches and armored vehicles since modern times.
Many of the Banner army under the Five Banners would be more inclined to their own Banner masters, while the new army set up by the emperor himself would be answerable only to the central court.

At a certain point when a sword becomes too pompous I'd much rather have a simple sword that's functional, but the French have mastered the art of making decorative swords that don't trigger this reaction in me. Now I can't get enough French ceremonial swords in the timeline! 🇫🇷

Asia was TOTALLY colonized what are we on?? India, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore just off the top of my head. And that’s hard colonialism, that doesn’t include spheres of influence in China and Japan.

🚨 the Philippines just declared an "energy emergency"..
they import 95% of their crude oil.. and diesel prices have nearly doubled since February.. inflation hitting 5.1% this year..
the Philippines has no troops in the Middle East..
no stake in Iran's nuclear program..
no seat at any table where this gets decided..
they're literally 5,000 miles from the Strait of Hormuz..
and they're already in their biggest energy crisis ever..
this is what a war at a chokepoint actually does.. it doesn't stay there.. it travels..
it shows up in the price of a jeepney ride in Manila.. a kilo of rice in Cebu.. a generator in Mindanao..
115 million people who had nothing to do with any of this..
in 1973, the Arab oil embargo did the exact same thing.. developing nations got hit first and hardest.. paid for a war they didn't start..
50 years later, same chokepoint, different country.. and the Philippines won't be the last one you hear about.
