A sequel movie to the ‘LORD OF THE RINGS’ trilogy is officially in the works. Plot synopsis — 14 years after the passing of Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin set out to retrace the first steps of their adventure. Meanwhile, Sam’s daughter, Elanor, has discovered a long-buried secret and is determined to uncover why the War of the Ring was very nearly lost before it even began. Stephen Colbert is co-writing the script.

@fienchen_b The Last time I watched or really cared was in 2016 when LD won The Oscar for Best Actor in The Revenant . It’s just not what it used to be and I doubt I went to the cinema more than 3X this year . I can be happy for a few of the winners but 🤷🏻♂️

The golden era has been over for a while. I used to stay up religiously to watch it but it has turned into a meaningless event with too many mediocre and forgettable movies, no celeb power and nobody to root for anymore, not like back during LotR times when it peaked.

It’s crazy how growing up the Oscars were such a big deal (kids staying up on a school night to watch, people throwing watch parties etc) and in such a short time no one seems to care about them anymore

So Colin retreated back into his cave & wasn't at the panel. He was on the list but his name was switched like last minute. No mention why, what a bummer. I would have also loved to take some more photos. A bit miffed with myself bc I didn't take a vid of his arrival yesterday.

Borne by #Míriel in #TheRingsofPower, Wētā Art Director Vaughan Flanagan noted: “The sword that Míriel wears is both a relic of the first age and heirloom of the Kings and Queens of #Númenor…These etchings continue onto the blade and contain many first age references that will be familiar to #Tolkien fans.”
Some of these First Age references include etched scenes of the legend of Beren and Lúthien, and several emeralds inset into its pommel and blade, akin to the Ring of Barahir, that fans will recognise as being worn by Aragorn in the Third Age.

@fienchen_b The trailer looks very good and if they are fairly faithful to book series I might be won over but I’m wary of the platform and its agenda . More than willing to give it a chance if it’s compelling and not sloppy .
