✈️🇺🇸 A large number of Europeans now say openly that they will no longer travel to the United States as long as Donald Trump is president. On social media, the language is blunt:
“Please do not come to the United States. We’re not the same country we were four months ago. It doesn’t feel safe here anymore.”
Others describe the decision in practical terms:
“I just cancelled our family trip to Florida. I’m not risking being questioned, detained, or treated as suspicious over politics I don’t even belong to.”
“I’ve visited the US six times. But I won’t go back now. The country feels unpredictable, angry, and openly hostile to outsiders.”
“This is about choosing peace of mind. I don’t want to explain myself at the border or worry about saying the wrong thing.”
What unites these reactions is that the United States is collapsing, and a growing sense that the country has become volatile, more polarized, and less welcoming. Europeans point to political radicalization, stricter border controls, tougher entry rules, expanded travel bans, and a climate increasingly perceived as hostile to tourists.
In European media and within the travel industry, this is now described as a clear “Trump effect.” Large groups of travelers are consciously voting with their wallets and choosing destinations other than the United States. They are opting for countries they see as stable, predictable, and safe.
As one British traveler put it:
“The US used to feel exciting. Now it feels like. Madmax movie. A bad one, that is. A holiday shouldn’t feel like stepping into a culture war.”
For many Europeans, the United States is no longer an obvious travel destination. And even when this political chapter eventually ends, there is no guarantee that tourism will ever return to what it once was.

@DahliaKurtz Key difference is that the US govt doesn’t support the oppressor in this case - the Iranian regime - so there’s less need for people to protest - everyone wants to see the Iranian regime gone.

@Bitch_WhatThe_F @TrueCrimeUpdat Ah those pesky EU regulations that we wanted to free ourselves from when we voted for brexit, what are they good for
English

@TrueCrimeUpdat Definitely easily flammable foam. Not allowed in the EU, not sure about Switzerland. Pretty sure the owners of the club will go to jail.

⚠️ WARNING: This post contains descriptions of a fatal fire and mass casualties
The death toll from the New Year’s Eve inferno at the Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, has risen to at least 47 people, with many victims still awaiting identification due to the severity of their injuries. Witnesses and investigators believe the blaze was sparked at approximately 1:30 a.m. when a waitress, carried on a colleague's shoulders during a champagne service, held a sparkler that ignited flammable soundproofing foam and wood panels on the ceiling. The fire spread with catastrophic speed, leading to a "flashover" that caused the entire enclosed basement bar to ignite almost instantly.
The tragedy was compounded by a narrow, single staircase that served as the only exit for the more than 100 revellers—mostly teenagers and young adults—trapped inside. More than 115 survivors are currently being treated at specialist burns units across Switzerland, France, and Italy, many in critical condition. Swiss President Guy Parmelin described the event as one of the nation's worst tragedies, while King Charles III issued a statement expressing his heartbreak over the loss of young lives. Local authorities are now investigating whether safety regulations were breached, as sparklers were reportedly banned in similar venues due to extreme fire risks.

@machibigs @ShirinKhan_13 Thankfully a list of less than 50 attacks over a period of 25 years are in fact the exceptions that prove the rule - that being that the OVERWHELMING majority of the worlds almost 2 BILLION Muslims are peaceful ordinary people
