@PyramidSongGirl There is a lot more than concrete in there. There's probably a lot of steel (high quality/grade steel is very expensive right now), and the concrete is also probably a much higher grade that is resistant to corrosion and is dense so cars can't damage it and cause a collapse.

@ashdogx I have always disliked the fixed cameras but the real gripe is the tank controls. Even back in the day playing RE2 or 3 on the PS1, I didn't like the cameras, but one can definitely get used to it. I just replayed the RE1 remake and it was still good... just didn't like the cam.

@iamrobtv 1000%. People that like the tank controls and fixed cameras can absolutely still go back and play it. Another remake won't delete the old iterations. Give me 1st or 3rd pov options and make it scary. They can even expand on Lisa Trevor and make her the stalker enemy throughout.

I have played the RE1 HD Remaster of the Gamecube remake. It is very good.
But absolutely no amount of Resident Evil purists screaming in my ear will convince me that this game getting the same treatment the RE2 Remake got would be a bad thing.
In fact, I think this game on the RE Engine in modern packaging would be even BETTER than the RE2 Remake.
Give me Spencer Mansion in "over the shoulder slop" form please. I'll eat it up.

Now that there are rumors about a Resident Evil 1 Remake happening, I see a lot of people posting about how its "not needed" My take is: It's not needed, but you can absolutely bet that this will be an incredible game, just like RE2R and RE4R. Trust Capcom, they'll nail it

@Ultra__Mayhem More interested in why anyone cares if it gets remade. You can still go play with fixed cameras and tank controls. A remake does not delete older iterations. I went back and played REmake after RE9 and sorry, it's woefully tedious. The door load screens and cam angles get so old.

Yes. It could use another remake. That doesnt take away from how awesome the original remake is. But that original remake does not fit with the newer generation of RE Remakes, both terms of gameplay and graphical style.
