Welcome to Durham University’s Babylab! 😃 We conduct exciting research studies investigating a range of topics associated with child development such as word learning, tiredness and numeracy. We specialise in eye-tracking and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS).

We had a wonderful time on Friday at the Preschool Day @scienceatlife, there was a colour theme which was perfect for our visual working memory task which uses arrays of coloured squares. It was great to meet so many families! 🌈🎨🟣

Last week we presented our current research at the 'Creative and Innovative Methods in Research with Children and Young People Conference', it was excellent to chat to people and hear about the other amazing research that takes place 🎨🧠📈

We had a fantastic time yesterday at the Spooky Preschool Day @scienceatlife, it was lovely to meet everyone thank you for coming over to our station 🎃

I had a fantastic time at the two-day Machine Learning Workshop at the University of East London, funded by COST Action! It was great to meet new people, learn about their research, and get hands-on with practical activities using Google Colab.

Last week @samhforbes attended the fNIRS conference in Birmingham to present posters with amazing work from @NinaJost_ and @GiuliaDAvino19!

You can park in either the Psychology Department car park or the car park opposite the Maths and Science building. Please note that while the bays are marked as permit holders only, this does not apply for parking on the day and therefore you will not need a parking permit!

More information about our Babylab Open Day 😃 The event will be held between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 31st August 2024. We will be using an open door policy so please come whenever is best for you and stay as long as you would like.

Calling all parents of 0-4 year olds. We are hosting a lab open day on 31.08.24 where you will have the opportunity to participate in some of our current eye-tracking studies as well as learn more about the research methods and meet our team.
