Durham Quantum Light and Matter
@DurhamQLM
QLM aims to advance our understanding of quantum light and matter, whilst exploring applications in quantum science, metrology and quantum technologies.

Our latest work on spectroscopy in the hyperfine Paschen-Back regime is now on the arXiv. We demonstrate the importance of fine-structure changing collisions, in "buffer-gas free" vapour cells. Work done @DurhamQLM with @ClareRHiggins and @DaniPizzey arxiv.org/abs/2408.11689

Our @DurhamQLM @DurhamPhysics researchers are playing a key role in the UK’s drive to develop #quantum technology as part of a £160m investment announced today to harness the power of quantum #physics 👉 brnw.ch/21wLvPK #QuSIT #DUresearch

@infleqtion announced the installation of a neutral atom quantum computer at the National Quantum Computing Centre. Infleqtion becomes the first company to deploy hardware at the NQCC under their quantum computing testbed programme. businesswire.com/news/home/2024…

The colleges in QLM visited Boulby underground laboratory located in Boulby mine, 1.1km below ground . It is one of the deepest science laboratories. Its unique environment allows researches requiring ultra-low background level.

Hot off the press! "Indirect measurement of atomic magneto-optical rotation via Hilbert transform" Work done @DurhamQLM by @jack_briscoe13 @DaniPizzey @wrathsaw Atoms, lasers, magnets and Hilbert transforms - what's not to like! arxiv.org/abs/2403.00950

Greatly enjoyed my visit to @KCL_Physics to give seminar. Fantastic to catch up with @QuantumWorkshop again. Saw some levitated nano diamonds!
