@bam_weather I'm starting to wonder if some of the higher totals will be contaminated with sleet. That 12z Euro run looked deeper off the get go and has me wondering exactly how far the low and warm tongue wiggle up the Appalachian ridge.

Data remain favorable for mid-lats on the U.S. west coast, too! Bz still pinned!

Jack Straw@Xyzcbxxyz
@Vincent_Ledvina Seems pretty widespread. Pillars seen near NYC, should get better as it gets even darker. Hoping it holds for night time on west coast too!

I'm not sure how @AndyTFE and @BrendanPorath missed this ND comp on the SGS pod. Talk about an all time "taking my ball and going home"... youtu.be/LLxhR8v2EGc?si…

@TornadoWIS Alright time for the 500mb comparison now
English

The difference in times you ask?
The Arnett tornado on 5/4/2007 occurred at around 5:45 pm. The one today occurred at 5:52 pm.
The Greensburg, KS tornado on 5/4/2007 formed at 9:03 pm and dissipated at 10:05 pm. The one today formed at ~9:20 pm and dissipated at ~10:05 pm.

@fried_egg_golf @AndyTFE Did anyone else catch Immelman with the "restoring order" call? 😂
English

@ChasingOhio Those hodographs should yield some interesting looking storms in the least. Lots of streamwise vorticity in the lowest 2km, but the "v" veering shape above should reveal back sheared anvils. Figures, since I'm heading south in the morning for vacation 🙄

@LinksGems 4th at Wilmington Municipal is enhanced by the firm, sandy soil. Not much to stop the ball from careening down the volcano.

Who doesn’t love a Volcano hole?
A hit-it-or-else green, usually at the end of a short par-3, tends to inject some drama and excitement into the round immediately.
Would love to hear some of your favorite examples.
Here are 8 of mine:
The 8th at Misquamicut
The iconic par-3 6th at the Country Club of Buffalo
“Battleship,” the par-3 12th at Bald Peak Colony
The par-3 4th at Omni Bedford Springs Resort

AURORA OUT AGAIN:
Great conditions for aurora chasing have developed since 00:00Z, with a new magnetic field enhancement possibly associated with a new CME arrival tacking on to yesterday's CME arrival.
Minor to moderate geomagnetic storm conditions are expected to continue this evening into the overnight, and aurora has been reported tonight in states like Pennsylvania, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New York. Go take a peek if you can!

@KylePorterCBS A foursome walking is faster than a foursome riding.

@feedtheball Very reminiscent of the slope and runout Green installed at Scioto's 12th. The peninsula shape of the back tier at the latter can wreak havoc on finding a true back edge number (all depends on the angle of approach) and it causes so many misses long and difficult up and downs.

Had a chance to play the “new” East Lake yesterday following the remodel by @GreenGCA. Oh baby. This is not how you remember it. The greens are so much more interesting and flexible with sneaky hole locations. 🔥🔥🔥 Thinking is required.

@ReedTimmerUSA Straight as a 2x4? With the quality of lumber at the box stores in my area, that would be a classic tornadic supercell hodograph...
English

CLASSIC GORILLA HAIL setup this late afternoon and evening generally along and just south of the I-20 corridor from the Texas Hill Country through LA/MS/AL with strong deep-layer shear, weak low-level wind shear, relatively low freezing heights, and hodographs as straight as a 2x4 board. Texas will likely see the most significant hail. The tornado threat is relatively low throughout the target area, but is non-zero with any mature supercell storms.

@AndyTFE Cool gesture for loopers, but in my experience I'd take maintenance day (Monday) play over after work play. At least in the Ohio humidity, I mostly pass on after loop play because I value the skin of my nether regions staying intact. Gold Bond has limits...

A great example of Brambles inclusive vision.
If you caddie in the morning you can eat lunch in the clubhouse and play golf all afternoon.
It's exciting to see some values beyond exclusivity coming to American clubs.

Welcome to Brambles. Located north of Napa Valley, this Coore & Crenshaw design is ready to turn heads and be a trendsetter for American golf. Longtime C&C associate James Duncan describes the Brambles mission

@GCIMagazineGuy You want to talk about priorities out of whack? I'm a middle school science in one of the better paying districts in Ohio. My hourly rate as a looper absolutely demolishes what I make educating children.

Half-mile wide wedge #tornado reported on this supercell near Greenwich, OH in the Cleveland warning area. Reported by emergency management

@225MPH_EF4 It means $22 per hour at the Walmart or Amazon distro center you show up at 5 days a week to finance your chasing habit.
English

@KVanValkenburg @NoLayingUp And we denied that accomplishment to more deserving golfers, who played better and earned it.
English

@KVanValkenburg @NoLayingUp Largely because, even with the best analytics, it's a question we can't answer beforehand, and can at best arm-chair quarterback after the fact.
What genuinely sucks about the JT pick is that we are discussing one of the ultimate and most exclusive accomplishments in pro golf.
English

You're welcome to believe Justin Thomas is the beneficiary of a shadowy Boys Club (I prefer cabal) but I think you're caught up in conjecture & failed way of thinking. He may flounder, but he's worth the Ryder Cup gamble, which I wrote about at @NoLayingUp nolayingup.com/blog/the-justi…
