The new European ensemble mean of 4”+ probabilities vs the prior run 6 hours ago. Note the NORTH jump. It’s just simply not a south trend. It couldn’t be anymore obvious than this is here.

The aurora show isn't over - the sky over Canada and the Northern Tier US states has again exploded with bright aurora! This is the view over Maine. The display is likely visible quite far south into the US.

The difference in times you ask? The Arnett tornado on 5/4/2007 occurred at around 5:45 pm. The one today occurred at 5:52 pm. The Greensburg, KS tornado on 5/4/2007 formed at 9:03 pm and dissipated at 10:05 pm. The one today formed at ~9:20 pm and dissipated at ~10:05 pm.

@ChasingOhio Those hodographs should yield some interesting looking storms in the least. Lots of streamwise vorticity in the lowest 2km, but the "v" veering shape above should reveal back sheared anvils. Figures, since I'm heading south in the morning for vacation 🙄

AURORA OUT AGAIN: Great conditions for aurora chasing have developed since 00:00Z, with a new magnetic field enhancement possibly associated with a new CME arrival tacking on to yesterday's CME arrival. Minor to moderate geomagnetic storm conditions are expected to continue this evening into the overnight, and aurora has been reported tonight in states like Pennsylvania, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New York. What is a golf belief you have that you will never be talked out of?

@feedtheball Very reminiscent of the slope and runout Green installed at Scioto's 12th. The peninsula shape of the back tier at the latter can wreak havoc on finding a true back edge number (all depends on the angle of approach) and it causes so many misses long and difficult up and downs.

BTW, the lower left pic is from behind the green at 16, that now features a deep hollow about 8-10 feet below the putting surface that will collect any shot too strong. East Lake didn't have anything as dodgy at this before.

Had a chance to play the “new” East Lake yesterday following the remodel by @GreenGCA. Oh baby. This is not how you remember it. The greens are so much more interesting and flexible with sneaky hole locations. 🔥🔥🔥 Thinking is required.

@ReedTimmerUSA Straight as a 2x4? With the quality of lumber at the box stores in my area, that would be a classic tornadic supercell hodograph...

CLASSIC GORILLA HAIL setup this late afternoon and evening generally along and just south of the I-20 corridor from the Texas Hill Country through LA/MS/AL with strong deep-layer shear, weak low-level wind shear, relatively low freezing heights, and hodographs as straight as a 2x4 board. Texas will likely see the most significant hail. The tornado threat is relatively low throughout the target area, but is non-zero with any mature supercell storms.

@AndyTFE Cool gesture for loopers, but in my experience I'd take maintenance day (Monday) play over after work play. At least in the Ohio humidity, I mostly pass on after loop play because I value the skin of my nether regions staying intact. Gold Bond has limits...

A great example of Brambles inclusive vision. If you caddie in the morning you can eat lunch in the clubhouse and play golf all afternoon. It's exciting to see some values beyond exclusivity coming to American clubs.

@GCIMagazineGuy You want to talk about priorities out of whack? I'm a middle school science in one of the better paying districts in Ohio. My hourly rate as a looper absolutely demolishes what I make educating children.

Grew up as a caddie. Have a tremendous amount of respect of the job. Big believer in the opportunities it creates. But there's no way a caddie should be making double or triple the hourly rate of somebody working on the golf course maintenance team.
