“In a free society, people can believe whatever they want. If you want to believe men can be women or you’re a man who wants to call himself a woman, that is your business. What you cannot do in a free society is force anyone else to accept it. What is at stake here is the ability to lawfully acknowledge reality. If you care so much about “trans rights” you can work out a way to get them without destroying the category of women in law, female spaces, sport, services, the entire reality of lesbianism, and punishing citizens for acknowledging reality. The fact that you haven’t even tried makes it appear that destroying the rights of women is the goal. Any politician who will look an Australian citizen in the eye and tell them that a man can be a woman is admitting that they will lie about anything and everything because the most obvious lie has already been told. If no one in this room can acknowledge reality and fix an obvious problem you are either malicious or incompetent. The days of dismissing this issue are over. This is not a culture war. It’s reality.” - my words, read by Alison Penfold MP, in parliament today. Contact politicians are tell them to BACK THE BILL - “Sex Discrimination Amendment- sex based rights bill 2026”

Charles Barkley: "I think we need to all pray for Wemby." Kenny Smith: "Why?" Barkley: "Because he can't play too many minutes, they are gonna kill him out there." Smith: "You're joking." Barkley: "I'm damn sure joking 'cause you guys -- these people, they are pissing me off. I'm watching the whole games. They (OKC) ain't playing dirty, and I'm like: 'These are some of the softest fouls I've ever seen in my life' You got these clowns on TV talking about: "They are gonna hurt poor Wemby." I was like: 'Hurt him? Are you really kidding, man?' It drives me crazy watching these shows".

Sharaine and Wilson Caraballo moved their family of seven into Pawtucket, Rhode Island — the only Black family on the block. They soon befriended their 82-year-old widowed neighbour, Paul Callahan. The Caraballos adopted Paul as their honorary grandpa. He now joins their family dinners, cookouts, holidays, and daily life, with the kids calling him "Grandpa." What began as neighbourly kindness grew into a beautiful chosen family across race and generations.

In 1704, Scottish sailor Alexander Selkirk refused to board a ship he believed was too damaged to survive at sea. After arguing with the captain, he was left alone on a remote Pacific island. Moments later, he regretted the decision and begged to be taken back, but the ship sailed away without him. Weeks later, the ship sank. Selkirk survived alone on the island for more than four years before finally being rescued. His incredible story later inspired the classic novel Robinson Crusoe

In 1966 the northern bobwhite was one of the most common birds in the eastern United States. Its two-note call ("bob-WHITE") was the soundtrack of farm country from Texas to Massachusetts. In 1956, hunters harvested 2.5 million quail in Illinois alone. Populations have declined by roughly 81 to 85% across the continent since then. There's no single villain to this story. The cause is the entire shape of how we use land. Fire suppression turned brushy farm edges into closed-canopy forest. Industrial agriculture replaced the messy borders quail need with clean monoculture. Suburbs ate the rest. The places the birds could live disappeared. At this rate, a bird almost everyone's grandparents knew is a bird almost no one's grandchildren will. If you want to fix this, the answer is the same as it always is: messy edges, native grasses, less mowing, less spraying.

If you're worried about coyotes, look at what they actually do. A coyote in a suburban neighborhood spends its night eating rats, mice, voles, rabbits, fallen fruit, and the occasional groundhog. It avoids humans almost entirely. Studies tracking radio-collared coyotes in Chicago show they cross human-occupied land at night with surgical precision, picking routes through alleys and parks that minimize encounters. Remove them from a landscape and rodent populations explode, disease pressure rises, and mid-sized predators (raccoons, skunks, feral cats) lose their check and overrun bird-nesting habitat. The coyote is not the problem in your neighborhood. The coyote is what's keeping the problems in check. If you're concerned: keep small pets supervised at night and don't leave pet or human food out where they can find it. The rest is just sharing the land with the animal doing more pest control than anyone you're paying.

North Carolina figured something out 40 years ago that most states still haven't. Instead of just mowing roadsides, they started planting wildflowers. What began as a tiny 12-acre experiment in 1985 has grown to 1,500 acres of pollinator habitat across the state. The U.S. mows roughly 17 million acres of roadside grass every year at massive cost for basically zero benefit to wildlife. Every state already pays to maintain those shoulders and medians. They could turn that same land into wildflower corridors for less money and way more impact. North Carolina proved it works, the rest of the country has no excuse.

Freddie Freeman was a dead duck going to second base as Ketel Marte had the ball ready to tag him out. As Freddie stopped before getting tagged out, Ketel opens up his arms and invites Freddie for a hug, Freddie concedes and heads over to hug Ketel and gets tagged out. You could hear the whole stadium laughing.
