Katie Ginella is sharing more about her experience filming The Real Housewives of Orange County. She revealed that production gives the cast a weekly filming schedule, which outlines who they’re filming with, what they’re doing, and where they’re going. Katie said production told her she would be taking Gina, Jen, and Emily to an Asian grocery store, so she assumed it would be somewhere like H Mart. However, when she arrived, she realized it was a Japanese grocery store. Katie said she told producers that she’s Korean, not Japanese, and didn’t feel comfortable pretending to be knowledgeable about Japanese culture. According to Katie, production brushed off her concerns and told her to “just make it work.” Katie said she didn’t want to walk into the store and act like she knew all about Japanese culture when she didn’t, adding that production gave her a lot of pushback over her concerns. Katie also revealed that production would sometimes tell her to say and do certain things during filming. She claimed producers even interrupted one scene to tell her to bring something up. She added that she felt the women were trying to make “the brown person” look like a liar.
