It'd be surprising if the lasso rule was being applied as the rule makers intended. There's a distinction between the ball being kicked out of bounds and the ball hitting someone's foot and then going out of bounds. Was the intention to make the latter a free against? Doubt it.

@sportandracing My point is though that there are games going on at same times, so it's physically impossible to watch all the matches. That's the lure of Magic Round. I know they are different events and I'm not bashing Gather Round. Obviously a big success. Just seems foreign to me.

This is not a knock on the AFL, but for the life of me I can't wrap my head around Gather Round being at different stadiums. The best bit of Magic Round is you can get a bunch of mates together, and watch everyone's team play over the course of three days.
