I held a roundtable in Aberdeen to discuss my Launch South Dakota Initiative. Startups take time to develop. They require community support, engagement, and mentorship. South Dakota’s best years could still be ahead of us, but we need to invest in our people. As governor, that’s what I intend to do.

My Education Plan for South Dakota: ✔️ Strengthen reading and math ✔️ Expand real skilled trade pathways ✔️ Serve wholesome South Dakota beef in school lunches Because EVERY child deserves the chance to grow, learn, and build a strong future—right here at home.

I hosted an education roundtable in Spearfish to hear from local leaders, parents, and stakeholders. After listening to numerous administrators, teachers, and parents, a few themes have emerged: 1. The strongest indicator of student outcomes is parental engagement. 2. Teachers and staff do not want to replace parents, but partner with them to help the students achieve their best educational outcomes. 3. There is not a one-size-fits-all solution. As governor, I will work with school districts, teachers, and parents to find solutions, not create more problems.

We don’t make excuses. We roll up our sleeves and get to work. We fight to protect what’s ours. That’s the South Dakota way—the only way. And it’s exactly how I’ll serve as your next Governor.
