Here are 4 images from chapters in a textbook. 1️⃣ Polynomials 2️⃣ Quadratic Expressions 3️⃣ Coordinate Geometry 4️⃣ Deductive Geometry I bet you can't match all four correctly. #MTBoS #iTeachMath

Feeling a weird combination of super exhausted because I didn't get to sleep until 3am last night, and super excited about getting a job interview. Maybe wine is the answer, it so often is :-)

For the powers of two 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, ... the count of digits from one to the next increases by at most 1. (Why?) The count of digits gives 1,1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,4,5,5,5,6,6,6,7,7,7,7,... Is each number repeated at least three times and at most four times?

@jamestanton I think I have this one! Yes it will be at most 4 and at least 3. The smallest n digit number is 1000... If this is doubled four times it will become a n+1 digit number 16000... I can use similar logic in reverse for the at least 3 argument.

@meganlock24 Thanks for sharing this. Really nice to hit a wholesome, honest post. I'm feeling tired too but still convinced that teaching is what I want to be doing as well. :)

@KateQMaths @nomad_penguin Gosh. I can't decide if I love this enough to try my family on it or whether it's too much! 3/4 words on my first mess around

@mic_epstein (75+3)*7-(25+3)*3=462 with all used! But I'm pretty sure that wasn't what my original was

How close can you get to the target number using each of the 2 big and 4 small numbers once? Use any of the four basic arithmetic operations (+, −, × and ÷). For more number combinations to play with, head to The Numbers Game site mathsstarters.net/numbersgame/ #mtcoz #MTBoS

@ab_d0001234 There are definitely numbers that appear more than four times. I believe the first one to do so (besides 1) is 3003.

1 is the number that appears most frequently in the Khayyam Triangle. #WonderWithMe: What number appears the second most frequently? #math #maths
