Now that it’s over, I can admit it. These refs were favoring us. The Knicks had to win by 15 in order to win by 1 — literally. I love my Spurs, but I don’t want us to win in that manner. Integrity of the game is more important to me: if we’re not the better team, let us lose.

If the Knicks do win the title, the main reason it'll sting is because they actually beat a legit team in the finals. We beat a severely outmatched Mavs, with our superteam. They're beating a worthy opponent. We didn't. Some titles carry more weight than others.

Knicks 2026 Finals Run Analysis: The easiest playoff path of all time? This Knicks run just overtook the Bucks 2021 title as the fakest of all time. I can’t and won’t respect it. Pure injury merchants + ref ball. Easy East participation trophy. 1/ First Round vs. Hawks: Faced CJ McCollum and Onyeka Okongwu (depleted frontcourt) and it STILL took them 6 games to advance. Barely scraped by a 6 seed. Refs clearly biased towards New York the whole way. Without the whistles this series flips. 2/ Second Round vs. Sixers: The Knicks “swept” a Philadelphia team missing its MVP and undisputed best player Joel Embiid due to ankle and hip issues that severely limited the roster. They also faced an aging Paul George and Andre Drummond. This was a classic asterisk victory. 3/ Conference Finals vs. Cavs: Hobbled Donovan Mitchell + a 36 year old James Harden + terrible coach Kenny Atkinson. Still needed refs handing free calls and Josh Hart’s fakest 48 minutes ever (never shooting like that again) to blow them out. Cavs were cooked and compromised. Overall: No real tests. No healthy elite competition. Just feasting on broken rosters. I just can’t respect a finals run vs CJ McCollum, Andre Drummond and Dennis Schroder. I’ll be generous and say they steal one game in the Finals but fully expecting a big margin sweep by OKC or Spurs.
