@ProspectWatch44 @BR_OpenIce @lucasnola1 @RussoHockey As to your second point that he’s bad away from Kyrou, here’s the top 5 on 5 lines across the league this year. Check out number 1:
MoneyPuck.com@MoneyPuckdotcom
Top forward lines of the NHL regular season by goals scored per 60. (Minimum 250 minutes played together 5 on 5). moneypuck.com/lines.htm
English

@ProspectWatch44 @BR_OpenIce @lucasnola1 @RussoHockey Ok so this is an inaccurate statement which is fine. Allow me to help you understand.
Thomas has 228 points in 215 games over the past 3 seasons. Thats 87 points per season over PPG. That’s top 15 center numbers. He’s also an exceptionally reliable defensive center
English

The Minnesota Wild went after Robert Thomas and offered up Danila Yurov and Jesper Wallstedt at the deadline, but the Blues passed 👀
(via @RussoHockey)

English

@ProspectWatch44 @BR_OpenIce @lucasnola1 @RussoHockey Genuinely curious. What do you think Thomas is?
English

@BR_OpenIce @lucasnola1 @RussoHockey Who do the blues think Thomas is 😭
They aren’t getting a better offer than that
English

@MaggieLJohnson @WillieTheTiger Maybe it was true. Ford certainly doesn’t seem overly interested here. Regardless glad it happens now

@MaggieLJohnson @WillieTheTiger So Cuonzo’s timeline I believe lines up pretty closely with Travis Ford at SLU. Kinda surprised Ford would reject that but maybe. I’m not saying you’re lying by any means.
English

Danny gives a good sentiment here and I agree with all of it, OTHER than the notion that he or anyone else thinks Mizzou has seriously been running from SLU of all schools in basketball for 25 years😂 give me a break

@knowerofball05 @paytonisnotroll In theory, I get the logic.
In reality, I don’t think Mizzou is big enough to where the downsides outweigh the benefits.
English

@DylanJames_77 @paytonisnotroll It doesn’t help Mizzou to acknowledge another program in the state, in the heart of their most fertile recruiting ground, is on their level.
English

@MaggieLJohnson @WillieTheTiger That’s news to me. Would be interested in reading about that because it doesn’t track with what SLU is currently dealing with trying to get teams to schedule them.
Regardless, I’m pleased it’s happening now. It should be an annual game
English

@DylanJames_77 @WillieTheTiger The way you wrote it, it seemed like you were saying slu was the better program. Mizzou offered to play SLU. SLU turned it down. That’s common knowledge.
English

@MaggieLJohnson @WillieTheTiger If Mizzou wants to be the type of program they represent themselves as now with NIL where they can play with the big boys, it was well past time to put SLU on the books.
Dennis Gates deserves credit for doing so.
English

@MaggieLJohnson @WillieTheTiger None of it’s true? Not even Mizzou being a better program for a majority of the time? Come on Maggie.
Mizzou didn’t want to acknowledge SLU because if they do, it could help legitimize SLU as a presence in the area. I don’t know what the harm in admitting that is

@knowerofball05 @paytonisnotroll So why shouldn’t Mizzou play SLU?
English

@DylanJames_77 @paytonisnotroll It’s not weak you don’t get it.
I didn’t justify anything.
English

@knowerofball05 @paytonisnotroll That’s an incredibly weak response.
Leaning on the expansion of the tournament to further justify Mizzou’s usually very weak non conference is weak.
Mizzou should play SLU every year. It’s good for the area and the programs to have another annual game that people get up for.
English

@DylanJames_77 @paytonisnotroll If you have to ask this question you don’t have the proper knowledge to discuss this topic.
Mizzou doesn’t need another Q1 game. Especially with the expansion of the tournament. And if you think they do, they can get it from someone not named SLU.
English

@knowerofball05 @paytonisnotroll You’re saying nothing. What is the difference between Memphis and SLU right now?
I’m not overly concerned with the history of the programs when discussing the 2026 version of them.
If you prefer this phrasing, the expectation given the rosters should be that it’s Quad 1
English

@DylanJames_77 @paytonisnotroll Memphis isn’t SLU. What don’t you understand?
Because the history of both programs shows there’s almost a zero percent chance they will both be Q1.
You’re assuming a freshman will be one of the best players in the country in November.
You’re just making wild assumptions.
English

@knowerofball05 @paytonisnotroll So what is Memphis? Especially since you didn’t refute what I said about SLU.
Mizzou is bringing in one of the best players in the country in Jason Crowe Jr while SLU brought back almost their entire team plus landed 4 star big in Sheek Pearson.
Why shouldn’t i expect Quad 1?
English

@DylanJames_77 @paytonisnotroll 1. This doesn’t refute anything i said. Why are you deflecting?
2. Guaranteeing both SLU and Mizzou will be Q1 teams shows how little ball knowledge you actually posses.
English

@knowerofball05 @paytonisnotroll SLU is one of the top mid majors in the country currently regardless of whatever weird insecurity Mizzou only fans want to pretend.
It’s going to be a Quad 1 game for both teams and it’s stupid to pretend it’s not.
English

@WillieTheTiger You still get better results than playing the non conference garbage Mizzou normally runs out and its a good game for the area. Was dumb to avoid. If Mizzou was regularly scheduling strong non conference games, you’d have a stronger case
Kudos to Gates for stepping up.
English

@DylanJames_77 Because they have not been good for most of that time, the game wasn’t a draw😂 we beat them and get nothing out of it and they get to play in their Super Bowl. Thinking we were “running” is WILD
English

Mizzou finally found their balls. Credit to Dennis Gates for finally stepping up. This should be an every year game
