Dylan Kelsey (‘27, IA) added a base knock working back UTM here. Short to it, long thru it. Takes the hands to it and gets extended for a smooth base knock into CF. EZ stroke gets it done. @PG_Uncommitted @PGIASelect #PGSpringLeague

𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚋𝚢 @TruePitch We first got data on @N_S_Baseball’s Kye Smith (2025, Kirkwood commit) at the 2023 Prep Baseball Iowa Preseason All-State. The 6-foot-4 right-hander showed a heavy fastball from a 3/4 slot that topped out at 82.6. The phrase “the body and arm project well” was applied to his evaluation. One year later, Smith returned to the Preseason All-State and popped 91.6 MPH with his fastball, the second-highest max velo out of the event.  Smith’s fastball has some heavy action, and his ability to get down the mound allows him to maintain that velocity on the way to the plate. His release point average of 6.1 feet down the hill made his effective velo sit at 90.8 MPH, the highest at the preseason event.  The slider is sharp at 80 MPH, spins hard (up to 2,600 RPM), and takes a late left-hand turn. Smith can pitch backward effectively with his breaking and off-speed offerings, but the added velocity has given him new gear. During the high school season, Smith was second among all juniors in Class 4A baseball with 73 strikeouts. In 58 innings, he issued just 17 free passes, showing his ability to pepper the zone. In spite of the strides into the low 90s, there is a lot left in the frame. He will complete his senior year at North Scott as one of the pitchers to watch in his class and will enter his college career at @KCC_BSB, where we expect more fuel in the tank.   More on @kye_smit15 ⤵️ loom.ly/xOp_7Z8

Up to this point; 2027 Dylan Kelsey (North Scott-IA) has been one of the better all-around players today @TheGreggYoungSC - strong athletic running back type build, good barrel skills, had had multiple base hits & is a above average runner. Reaches out to barrel a ⚾️ to backside of field 👇 @wowfactorqc @WowFactorNation #CentralIaOpen
