@sarabollman Now it is basically strangers arguing and performing.

Peak era for social media was around 2008-2018 because people posted real information about their lives to people who actually knew them—it was wholesome. Now it’s basically just a way to talk about current events with strangers. No wonder so many are unwell.

Was talking baseball with my girlfriend last night, and she brought up the idea of “hidden bullpens.” Can’t see who comes out until their music hits, starters and relievers. Teams don’t tell you in advance, and then their music hits. Would be pretty electric, not gonna lie.

You're Playing Your Own Game, so learn to stop comparing your journey to others. Everyone has a different capital, experience, timing, goals, and risk tolerance. Your focus should be on: What opportunities are available to YOU? What can YOU control? What's YOUR next step? Also, always remember that success isn't one-size-fits-all. So learn to play your game and trust your process.

Got lucky with timing and missed the snow back home this past week. First real family trip since having our son where work stayed mostly on the sidelines. I snuck in a little reading during nap time time and brought "The 5 Types of Wealth" by @SahilBloom. Admittedly, I did not finish it. Sand castles took priority! But what I did get through was solid. As we all know, time is the only truly non renewable resource. Especially in this phase of life, it's easy to get caught chasing financial outcomes and forget the other forms of wealth that actually matter. As a parent, you learn to track and measure time in the weeks and months of your children's lives. You grow accustomed to reciting their ages in these terms. As I watch the weeks and months fly by, these markers create a stark awareness of lost time. The moments you will never get back. Haven't finished the book, but would recommend it so far for anybody looking for a good read.

Unfollow the pessimistic people that normalize inaction. The ones that make you feel comfortable not buying real estate because it’s “overpriced” or starting a business because it’s “too hard.” Follow people who challenge you to do more and take you out of your comfort zone.
