Great research on display at the 13th International Passive Sampling Workshop and Symposium. I am delighted to share our projects progress into using @chemcatcher passive samplers for pharmaceutical detection in surface waters.

@willmurphy29 @InlandFisherIE @CathMurphyTD @EcofactEcology Sadly the damage is done, and there isn't much we can do to resolve the situation. It will take another year or 2 at a minimum to begin to recover. I haven't heard anything further on the case against the polluter, but as soon as I hear anything, I'll make another update post.

Here are the results I received from the lab I sent the water sample to. I'll have a look at EQS (environmental quality standards) guidelines as soon as I have time. In the meantime I'm sending it out for whomever is interested and would like to comment. #ryeriverpollution

This would be one of the worst outcomes which I can think of for the Rye River pollution. A farmer in County Monaghan Farmer who polluted a river with silage effluent got a € 400 fine + legal fees. How can we protect our rivers if the fines are so low. fishinginireland.info/2022/other-new…
