⏰ Deadline: Young Investigator Award in Lobular Breast Cancer Research Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer (ILC) affects more than 40,000 people each year, yet it remains under-researched, underfunded, and often misunderstood. To help change that, the Dynami Foundation partnered with Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation to fund a $50,000 Young Investigator Award dedicated exclusively to ILC research. This award is about more than funding. It’s about giving early-career physician-scientists the support, validation, and momentum to pursue meaningful work in a space that urgently needs attention. DYNAMI is at #SABCS25 as the 1st US patient advocate ever invited to speak on stage within the dedicated Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC) scientific session at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. REACH OUT TO CONNECT - flora@uncorkforacure.org For nearly five decades, SABCS has shaped the direction of breast cancer science. Yet ILC — the second most common subtype — only received its first dedicated scientific session in 2023. And until now, a U.S. patient voice had never been included on that stage. This December marks a milestone not only for lobular breast cancer, but for the DYNAMI Foundation’s mission. I will join world-leading researchers and clinicians to bring the lived experiences, unmet needs, and realities of people with lobular breast cancer into the scientific conversations that shape research priorities, clinical trial design, and future progress. Because meaningful change requires that patient perspective sits alongside science. As I shared, “Including patient perspective in scientific discussions helps ensure research reflects the realities of living with this disease. Lobular breast cancer has been underrecognized for decades, and elevating that voice is essential to advancing science.” There is still so much work ahead.
