Presenting my all time greatest hall of fame entry: 6 full odds shinies at 169:41 of game time. Pretty good considering it’s not like I started the file with that goal in mind. In fact I was in the middle of making my way through Kanto when I first happened upon a shiny.

Out of curiosity I went ahead and sorted this by region. Anything catch your eye? (Keep in mind that some Pokemon appear multiple times under different forms which may make the length of the rows misleading if you don't intend to count Ogerpon as +4 for Paldea, etc)

Honestly the worst part about struggling vs Charizard Y with a Mon designed to beat it is I’ve hit all my rock tombs so far. Even if I find a better line that accounts for them living most of the time there’s still a decent chance I whiff and instantly die for no reason

I keep forgetting that rock tomb can drop Mega Charizard Y’s speed because I’m clicking it expecting them to die.(Spoilers, they have 52 EVs in defense and they don’t)

Unfortunately the meta development for M-A being all Charizard Y + Rock Moves to beat Charizard Y has not been particularly kind to Ariados. Luckily the 100 wins badge is forever.

Testing teams when you’re stuck in the low ladder is tough. Like, yes it is good to know I have no Mega-Altaria coverage right now, but I would like to learn if I can beat WhimGlim or Mega Charizard Y before I consider which pieces stay and which change.

I’ve been having a lot of fun on the in-game ladder and absolutely no fun trying to build something that works in Bo3 OTS for Indy. Whether that’s a reflection of the format or my building skills I’ll leave to the viewer’s discretion.

Yeah…M-A is not a good format. It just gets more and more centralized. Content creators are gonna keep finding fun teams to showcase in bo1 ladder…but the successful bo3 meta has become less diverse and only focused more and more on Basc/Chomp/Zard/Gamb.
