Bombs are dropping on chapters of a new book. The world wants uninterrupted oil trade vs the injustice of #ivory & #rhino horn trade ban. The Strait of #Hormuz mirrors the injustice. The ban defunds elephant & rhino conservation, needlessly sentencing the iconic species to death.

It’s double standards for the UK 🇬🇧 Government to do what it & the #British citizens have been calling #elephant 🐘 overpopulated #SADC countries not to do- culling. bbc.com/news/articles/… So UK is will be CULLING but if we talk about culling it’s like a forbidden word

To museums & individual #ivorycollectors /buyers: Below are the photos of pre-1974 elephant ivory for non-commercial legal sale in line with CITES international trade regulations. They weigh 31.3kg (69 lbs) and 13 lbs (5.8kgs) each, with CITES PERMITS.

I am totally devastated 💔to learn that Godfrey Harris passed away last Tuesday. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. We learnt a lot from one another and strongly believed in our wildlife conservation work. Deepest condolences 💐 to Barbara and the family. 🙏

@SimonBotes Hi Simon, I agree with your feedback. There are certainly legal ways to trade in rhino horn , despite the ongoing CITES international ban. I have explained this in my new book: Conservation Challenge- The Case of Doomsday For Elephants And Rhinos. You call me tomorrow.

@E84022 We should chat. The international trade of rhino horn is not illegal! Local management authorities are intentionally blocking legal trade.rhinos.mobi/CITES.html

At #CITESCoP20 world governments kept elephant & #rhino 🦏 poachers & illegal trade syndicates in business by denying #Namibia & #Eswatini’s ivory &rhino horn trade proposals. Other SADC countries didn’t bother propose coz ban is now permanent. Zero legal trade = illegal trade.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are not achievable if we don’t do what they demand - sustainable use or allowing the use, trade, #hunting of #wildlife & their products inexhaustibly, allowing them to regenerate. Trade Not Anti-trade achieves SDGs. @rickygervais @BBCWorld
