Year 2 of making this collaborative poster with our 2nd graders.They are so excited to walk past it each day and even yell out,“I see Jackie Robinson or I see Martin Luther King Jr.!”We even added some more motivational posters across from it. #ilessoars

1st day back- 3 Act Task. If a hexagon and trapezoid are put in 1 side of a balance pan and all you have is 10 triangles and 3 rhombus, how many combinations can you come up with to balance or equal the other side? They ❤️ed it!

During Morning Meeting we reviewed what affirmations are and watched some inspiring videos of kids with their parents doing affirmations. For Closing Circle they had to type their own affirmations and they even gave others some positivity when they had trouble with their own.

Kudos to my #ILESsoars family! I could not ask for better co-workers to support my sensitive son! #SEL strategies from @EALewis2016 and our school counselor really help my son. He used his counseling request in classlink and is taking “I messages” very seriously. So thankful.

Read the cutest story by Lebron James today called, I Promise. Then after reviewing what our SOARing behavior looks like at school, the students wrote theirs promise they want to keep to make it a successful year for them and their classmates. #ILESsoars

After reading The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, we read some of his other books throughout the week. One of them being, Be You. Then, the students listened to some positive affirmations and wrote some about themselves. I just love seeing what they came up with. ❤️

This kind of stuff is my jam!!! We read the beautiful story, What If, by Samantha Berger and after brainstorming things they could make and materials they could use, they were tasked with creating something with materials they had around them and writing about it.
