When hiding in the trees, soldiers will receive an added defense bonus, at the slight cost of accuracy.

Added the environment query system and a custom icon for it. This will be used by the AI to query the environment to find strategic areas to move troops to. It also doubles to add modifiers to any unit within its vicinity.

@Phantom_TheGame They’re introducing an Uninstall Fee. If you want to play that new game you just bought with your friends and need to clear up space, it’s a dollar per gig. Also, any unplayed games in your library will also cost you a dollar per month, back dated to when you bought the game.

Working on the AI for my game. I know the technical aspects of it, just not the battle strategy of battlefield commanders. Need to do more research!

@LowResDev They can see Samuel L. Jackson, so they can see stars. 🐍✈️ Not sure how big a star has to be for them to see it but I'm sure someone will base their dissertation on it.

I wanted to know if my ball python, Endor, could see color. "Can snakes see stars?" 🥺

The environmental query system for my game will be necessary for the AI to determine areas of cover, strategic and advantageous spots to fight the player.

Like my knotty staff? Was printing out some game minis in resin and one needed a staff, so I sculpted one

Starting to work on the AI of the enemy. I'm more familiar with this on Unreal Engine, but doesn't look like Godot has anything like an environmental query system. Will keep looking, but might be fun to write my own for this.

Beat Horizon Zero Dawn over the weekend. Such a rich story that I'm going back and finishing some of the "side quests" which reveal more of the main story.

@Phant0mSl0th I can't look at a sink or shower drain the same, after this movie. Creep Show has an episode called The Raft if you haven't seen that one, which is similar.

With lots of soldiers, there needs to be a lot of death animations. It looks too strange whenever they die in the same way after a volley of enemy shots land.

Still a WIP but good enough for testing. Will clean up later.

Rough death animation, with linear curves. Need to fix timings and curves for that oh-so-smooth falling and head snap at the end.

A lot of work into the firing and reloading mechanics. Added a basic death animation too.

Unity, broke our trust in 2016 2019 2023 Maybe it’ll be 5 years until the next time!
