Very happy to share our recent paper in @LiverInt on #HCV care in primary care and community services. More evidence that a) people who currently and/or recently inject drugs can be cured of #HCV & b) treatment in primary care is feasible and effective onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.111…

Interesting work from @BurnetInstitute & @CSRH_UNSW 'Experiences of #stigma may not necessarily be a barrier to access health services but high rates of health service use may further expose exacerbate or exaggerate stigma among people who inject drugs' doi.org/10.1111/jvh.13…

Melbourne may still be in lockdown. But some of its most iconic landmarks – @AAMIPark, @cityofmelbourne Town Hall, Flinders St Station and Bolte Bridge – are still lit up in brilliant purple on @OverdoseDay to honour our lost loved ones, and recognise those living with the loss.

Good news! Recent legal changes in Victoria mean it is no longer a crime for community members to pass on sterile needles and syringes. It's been illegal even though it's impt to avoid hep C & HIV.

Australia can achieve @WHO target to eliminate #hepC as public health threat. First, we must find thousands who are unaware of their infection 🔎 and get them treated. To reach priority populations we need creative strategies and partnerships. #HepCantWait #WorldHepatitisDay

"If 2 billionaires had raced to eliminate diseases, one chose #hepB and one chose #hepC, imagine where we'd be," @MargaretHellard says 🚀 should be launched in the direction of hepatitis elimination in closing remarks for our #WorldHepatitisDay symposium. Thanks all who attended!
