Our therapy teams are specialists in helping people to avoid deconditioning and stay as independent as possible, even during an inpatient stay. #MobiltyMatters

The effects of deconditioning can lead to functional decline which affects a person’s ability to independently mobilise and complete activities of daily living which can increase their care needs on discharge

Effects of deconditioning include, but are not limited to, decreased muscle mass, strength and balance

Deconditioning is a decline in the body’s physical function following prolonged periods of inactivity such as prolonged bed rest
