After the merger, 90% of operations staff including HR (both big and small) of this bank was moved straight to sales and contact center. One particular was moved to my unit, we thought he was lucky, but he was struggling, 6 months after he was moved to internal control, he got to internal control, he was moved within 1 week to loan collections.
A particular HR head was moved to contact center, the woman resigned.

This bank moved a customer service manager (operations head) to sales. If you know this bank you might relate with this story. This staff is a DM, when you come to the branch you'll know he's an experienced banker. Now imagine the big paycheck of a staff doing the job an ET or ABO will comfortably do (This is HRs thought pattern). When he was moved to sales, we all saw the intention of that movement. When some banks want to cut costs or reduce staff strength, especially among senior employees with big paychecks, they move them to sales. They fully know they'll struggle and might not keep up with the pressure. There are two outcome to this move. It's either you resign or they lay you off due to non performance. Three months later, the man resigned.
