H.E President Emmerson Mnangagwa, through Proclamation 2 of 2026 issued on March 13, has appointed a Tribunal chaired by retired Justice Maphios Cheda, with members legal practitioners Tafadzwa Hungwe and Chaka Mashoko. The Tribunal has been established to inquire into the question of the removal from office of High Court Judge Never Katiyo over allegations of gross misconduct, following a formal recommendation made by the Judicial Service Commission in October 2025.

This morning, His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa, in line with Subsection 6 of Section 104 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, presided over the swearing-in of Hon. Vangelis Peter Haritatos at State House, where he took the appropriate ministerial oath as Minister of Lands and Rural Development. This follows the split of the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Development into two separate portfolios.
