Europe must stay focused on Ukraine. Military, financial, political support cannot weaken. We need to deliver on our promises. The €90 billion loan must move. And we need a common line: no place in Europe for Russian fighters with real war experience. At the same time: ⚡ energy security = stable prices & long-term capacity 📉 less bureaucracy = stronger competitiveness A stronger Europe means a safer Europe.

.@MFAestonia has summoned the Russian chargé d’affaires after a Russian SU-30 fighter jet violated Estonia's airspace near Vaindloo Island on March 18, remaining for about one minute. I can confirm that NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission responded swiftly, with Italian Air Force units deployed. There was no threat to Estonia’s security. vm.ee/en/news/foreig…

agressor russia using same tactics as soviet union did. After collapse of soviet union, everybody promised “Never Again”. Never Again is happening against Ukraine every day. 🇺🇦allies need to act and keep our promises. #Stoprussia

Narva is and always will remain an Estonian city. These little attempts at creating confusion and weakening social cohesion are basic and nothing new. We’ve seen these tactics by and from Russia before, in Estonia and elsewhere — a cheap way to provoke confuision and outrage. Stay calm, stay informed! Adequate response🥱 based on awareness🧏‍♀️ is the best defense against covert influence.

Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the massive Russian attack are currently underway in the Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv regions. All necessary services are involved. The main target for the Russians was the energy infrastructure of the Kyiv region, but unfortunately, there were also direct hits on and damage to ordinary residential buildings, schools, and civilian businesses. As of now, four people have been reported killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Many people have been injured, and some are still seeking medical assistance. Over the course of the night, the Russians launched around 430 drones of various types and a significant number of missiles. There were 13 ballistic missiles alone, and the total number of missiles in this attack was 68. According to preliminary data, 58 of them were intercepted by our air defense system. And every such night of Russian strikes is a reminder to all our partners that air defenses and the missiles for them are effectively a daily necessity. Every agreement on missile supplies cannot wait – everything must be implemented as quickly as possible. Our agreements to increase the production of air defense missiles are a critical direction, and this direction requires one hundred percent attention. Russia will try to exploit the war in the Middle East to cause even greater destruction here in Europe, in Ukraine. This is why we must be fully aware of the real level of the threat and prepare accordingly, namely: in Europe, we need to develop the production of air defense missiles – especially those capable of countering ballistic threats – as well as all other systems necessary to truly protect lives, regardless of what may be happening in any other part of the world. Europe is able to ensure this level of reliable protection. Thank you to everyone who is helping!

Russian fighters who have taken part in the aggression against Ukraine have no place in Europe. They pose a direct threat to Europe’s internal security. They have recent combat experience. Many were recruited from prison. Europe must urgently prevent their entry into the EU and Schengen. Ahead of #EUCO, eight European leaders call on the European Commission to address this issue at EU level.

The world needs Ukraine. Not only for a just and lasting peace today, but also as a future security guarantor. Ukraine’s experience in modern warfare will help shape the security of tomorrow. A major step forward in making the aggressor pay for their crimes. @Riigikogu has ratified the convention establishing the international claims commission for Ukraine within @coe. Estonia was one of the 34 countries to sign the convention in December, and today we move closer to turning it into a functioning instrument of justice. Russia must pay for all the destruction it has caused. No exceptions, no loopholes.

In London, donor countries of the #TallinnMechanism gathered to coordinate support for strengthening Ukraine’s civilian cyber resilience. As Russia continues its cyberattacks against energy systems, critical infrastructure and public services in an effort to undermine societal resilience, sustained and unified support for 🇺🇦 cyber capabilities remains essential. Estonia 🇪🇪 is stepping up its efforts. We stand with Ukraine — also in cyberspace.

Just wrapped the first-ever joint visit of Nordic–Baltic ambassadors in 🇺🇦 to a frontline region. We chose Kharkiv — a vivid symbol of unbreakable resilience. As Europe’s largest supporter group of 🇺🇦, we're committed: on the ground, hearing real needs, standing firm together.

Allowing the perpetrators of aggression to participate is not only inhumane, it also undermines the global effort to isolate Russia and Belarus for their persistent aggression against Ukraine. 🇪🇪🇫🇮🇮🇸🇱🇻🇱🇹🇵🇱🇷🇴🇸🇪 stand united with 🇺🇦. In our joint statement, we strongly condemned the IPC’s decision to permit athletes from Russia and Belarus to take part in the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games and to display their state symbols. Due to IPC's disgraceful decision, the Estonian delegation will boycott the opening ceremony of these Games. Full statement: vm.ee/en/news/statem…

Since last night, work has been ongoing to clear the rubble of a residential building in Kharkiv following a Russian ballistic missile strike. A whole section was destroyed, and the upper floors of a neighboring building were damaged. Unfortunately, as of now, it is known that 7 people have been killed. More than 10 people have been injured, including children. People may still be trapped under the rubble. All necessary services are working at the scene for the rescue operation. Russia used 29 missiles, nearly half of them ballistic, and 480 drones, most of them “shaheds,” against Ukraine. They targeted energy infrastructure in Kyiv, the Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi regions, and the railway in the Zhytomyr region. Damage has been reported in the Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions. Relevant services are working wherever necessary. There must be a response from partners to these savage strikes against life. I thank everyone who will not remain silent. Russia has not abandoned its attempts to destroy Ukraine’s residential and critical infrastructure, and therefore support must continue. The PURL initiative must continue to operate just as actively. We count on active work with the European Union to guarantee greater protection for our people. I am grateful to everyone who helps strengthen our protection.

Grateful to @mayorterekhov for inspiring, useful and friendly visit for Nordic-Baltic Ambassadors to 🇺🇦 Kharkiv. Kharkiv is truly a City of Courage with its people & leadership. They dont fight russian aggression only in front but also in communities. And they succeed.
Ihor Terekhov@mayorterekhov

Kharkiv continues to bring together reliable partners around itself.   Yesterday, we welcomed a powerful delegation—almost all of the ambassadors from the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) countries, who arrived in Kharkiv as a united team.   This meeting was important not only for our city. Mayors of cities belonging to the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities also joined it. Because today, Ukraine's frontline belt is not just a line of defense. It is a space where the security of all of Europe is being decided.   That is why international cooperation has become one of the key areas of the Association's work. We are strengthening cooperation with foreign partners, while horizontal ties between Ukrainian and European cities provide our communities with additional resilience.   The stability of Europe tomorrow depends on how strong Ukraine's frontline communities are today.   That is why it is time to move from individual initiatives to long-term strategic projects in our regions.   For some of the diplomats, it was their first visit to Kharkiv, while for others, it was their third or fourth. And for some, our city has become close and familiar.   But do you know what impresses foreign guests the most? It's not just the houses that have been rebuilt after enemy attacks, clean streets or even the world's first underground schools.   They are most impressed by Kharkiv residents.   The Ambassador of Estonia admitted that every time she visits Kharkiv, she feels more resilient. The Ambassador of Denmark spoke about his advisor, who lived in our city for two years, fell in love with it and is now lobbying the management to open a representative office here.   European ambassadors note the incredible courage of both Kharkiv residents and people who were forced to flee the war and found a new home in our city.   They are amazed at how our community maintains a normal rhythm of life under constant pressure and openly say there is much to learn from us. Our partners need this experience of managing a metropolis in crisis conditions. And we are ready to share it.   A separate, extremely important topic of our conversation is energy. The NB8 countries are closely monitoring how Kharkiv is preparing for the coming winter and are ready to assist in creating an “Energy Island.” This is a huge challenge that the local budget cannot overcome on its own. Therefore, the support of the Nordic-Baltic Eight countries is literally a matter of life and death for us.   I am sincerely grateful to the entire team of ambassadors from Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland!   Thank you for the organization of this truly historic visit, for the initiatives that have already been implemented and for the ambitious plans that we will definitely bring to life together! @IngaTolockiene @AnnelyKolk @APildegovics @NorwayAmbUKR @DKAMBinUkraine @SwedeninUA @IcelandinPL

Today, the @iaeaorg Board adopted a resolution on Russia’s attacks against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which pose significant risks to nuclear safety. Estonia stressed that the unprecedented escalation of Russian missile and drone strikes in 2026 has sharply intensified nuclear safety risks for Ukraine, its people, and the wider European region.

🇪🇪 @Tsahkna phone call w 🇺🇦 @andrii_sybiha - the same Iranian-origin drones terrorizing the Middle East are still raining destruction on 🇺🇦 cities & people. Russia’s aggression hasn’t slowed, nor have its goals changed. Support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia must intensify.
Margus Tsahkna@Tsahkna

Grateful for the call today, dear @andrii_sybiha, and for the update on Ukraine and your work with partners facing Iran’s massive air attacks. Let’s be clear: the same Iranian-origin drones now terrorizing the Middle East are still raining destruction on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. Russia’s aggression hasn’t slowed, nor have its goals changed. Support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia must intensify. Estonia is pushing for the swift launch of the €90bn EU loan package agreed last year and a strong 20th sanctions package to tighten the screws on Moscow. Ukraine’s resilience is defending all of Europe. Our focus must remain unwavering.

An appalling decision by @Paralympics to prohibit Ukraine from participating under its internationally recognized map, while Russia, the aggressor waging a brutal war of annihilation, is allowed to compete with its flag. More than 600 Ukrainian athletes and coaches have been killed or injured. Hundreds of sports facilities have been destroyed. This is not neutrality. It is a choice and it contradicts the very values the Olympic movement claims to uphold. Sport cannot be “outside politics” when authoritarian regimes weaponize it for propaganda and war.
UNITED24@U24_gov_ua

The IPC: allows russia and Belarus to participate under their flags. Also IPC: prohibits Ukraine to participate under their map. The actual, internationally recognized map. Is there something you’re trying to tell us, @Paralympics?
