Did you know that #lowGWP F-gases are used to safely power #airconditioning units in most new cars sold in the EU, including EVs? F-gases are used as refrigerants to provide cooling, demisting and humidity control, as well as heating, defrosting and air-filtering.

Low GWP F-gases play an important role as a propellant in #inhalers for asthma and other lung-related conditions. #LowGWP F-gases are used by medical manufacturers because they are safe, stable and non-toxic.

Low GWP F-gases are essential in #commercialrefrigeration to keep food fresh and safe to eat. Without F-gases, food would spoil quickly and disease would spread easily.

💡 In 2020, the @EU_Commission began the process to review the current #FgasRegulation. EFCTC and its members value the work and contribution from all stakeholders to date on the Regulation. Take a look at the summary of what has happened over the past two years 👇

That's a wrap 👏 EFCTC is delighted to have taken part in the 45th meeting of the Open-ended Working Group of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol (#OEWG45) in Bangkok. We are looking forward to continuing the timely discussions initiated last week around strengthening the Protocol and working towards the most efficient solutions to take care of the ozone layer as well as our climate, in Europe and beyond.

📅 Today, EFCTC attended an event "Making a Success of the European Union's F-Gas Regulation" as part of the side events programme of the 45th meeting of the Open-ended Working Group of the Parties to the #MontrealProtocol (#OEWG45). Thanks to @EPEESecretariat for convening this panel to share the success story of the EU F-gas Regulation with colleagues from all over the world and allowing all participants to gain valuable insights and connect with like-minded professionals.

Did you know that F-gases play a crucial role in the #heatpumps refrigeration cycle? Heat pumps contribute to the increasing use of renewable energy. Thanks to F-gases, we can increase the use of renewable energy, thereby facilitating Europe's climate goals.

Europe is on the road to net-zero by 2050 thanks to the EU Green Deal. As a driver of the #REPowerEU strategy, heat pumps play a key role in Europe's decarbonisation. Without F-gases, we are putting Europe's #heatpumps strategy at risk.
