EHHS | Leadership Alliances

Today we celebrated the completion of summer bridge at EHHS, shouting out several students who were recognized as outstanding leaders, good citizens, and demonstrating growth! See you in August!

The 9th graders had a great morning with our Connections+ Leaders during team building!

We kicked off our final week of summer bridge with several service projects around East Hartford as students partnered with local organizations!

Ryan Parker visited our SLI students today to talk about reimagining leadership!

Today students partnered with the CT River Conservancy to clean up Keney Park and Pope Park in Hartford as part of their service learning graduation requirement!

Students toured EHHS today, stopping at important locations throughout the building. Students had just learned about our amazing Grade 9 support team with a Who’s Who?! matching game!

Celebrated a successful first week of summer bridge with ice cream after learning about why attendance matters and the importance of self-advocacy!

Students practiced communication skills as they interviewed each other about their 8th grade experiences and set goals for high school!

We had a great first day of Leadership Alliances today at EHHS! We focused on team building with some class vs. class relays!

And that’s wrap on Leadership Alliances 2023! We ended with so much positivity as students earned awards for outstanding leadership and improvement and gave each other shout outs!

Our rising 9th graders participated in team building activities led by juniors in Connections+ as they got to know some upperclassmen!

Day 10 | Today students learned about email etiquette. They evaluated sample student emails for errors and practiced communicating with teachers via email based on several scenarios!

Today we heard from several EHHS Alumni, who have emerged as leaders in many different fields. Thanks to our partnership with EHAAEF!

Students put their communication skills and team work to the test today as groups tried to build a raft to sail on the lake. Thanks to the facilitators at Winding Trails for a great day!

We packed the lecture hall today for a session with @ChiefThePoet! He inspired students to follow their passions and “find their poem.”

We discussed why attendance is so important to grade 9 success today and being on-track! Students tested their knowledge of the EHHS attendance policy playing Kahoot.

Welcome to Week 2! Today students worked together to analyze and evaluate academic and social situations as they tried to “calm the storm”!
