EIHL Officials Appointments

Referee James Ions has requested to change his jersey number. 💬 "47 is Adam’s legacy. No longer wearing the number felt the right way to show respect on behalf of all the officials." Game officials will join players at centre ice for this weekend's pre-game tributes.

I really hope all the players, on ice officials, and office ice staff are given the support they need by the league and IHUK at this awful time.

@reece_harrison1 He’s subbed in before as a ref, I’d imagine it depends on the availability of other officials to travel to Belfast.

The first DOPS decision on this one was ‘interesting’ as well if I recall.

This was ‘the’ incident that focused the EIHL on improving officiating (for a while), and brought back the 4-official system. Although it was interesting that an external panel of officials deemed Hicks’ on ice call correct (no penalty on the original hit) if I recall correctly.
