@4SigmaSmarter @KurtSchlichter Don't they have to be subject to jurisdiction in order to be arrested? Does it relate to people with sovereign immunity, like kids of ambassadors?
English

@BarbaraMStraw @KurtSchlichter "subject to the jurisdiction thereof"
illegal aliens are not subject to our jurisdiction

You guys understand we’re going to lose the birthright citizenship case, right?
Before you completely freak out, the traditional understanding of the 14th Amendment, which we are seeking to change, is not an insane reading of it. Nor are our arguments insane like the left has been same. That’s baloney to just shut us up. Neither side is frivolous.
It’s a tough call legally and objectively speaking. But when we lose it, and I think we will, don’t freak out that this is some sort of conspiracy. It’s a hard legal decision. Sadly, we have three judges who aren’t even going to try to examine the question and will always vote for what leftists want. But the rest of the court has to make a tough legal call.
I think our reading is the correct one. For various reasons, I think they’re going to rule against us. Don’t freak out when they do. It’s not an utterly irrational ruling like so many of the district court opinions we’ve seen.

@TheMoneyApe Iran said they would not target ships carrying Chinese oil. China can sail through. China isn’t concerned about protecting anyone else’s oil. Keep China out. If they invade Taiwan the strait can be closed to starve them of oil. To hard to do if they are there. US must win

@Microinteracti1 @SmindCrypto Really? What did they hit? Apparently, nothing. So why lie about it?
English

@SmindCrypto Thanks, really appreciate it.
A country that was “completely destroyed” three weeks ago just hit a target 4,000 kilometres away in the Indian Ocean. No plan. No endgame. No idea.
English

Iran fired two ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia this week. That’s a tiny British-American dot in the Indian Ocean that most people couldn’t find on a map, which is precisely why it matters.
The range was 4,000 kilometers. Four thousand. To put that in perspective, 4,000 kilometers from Tehran gets you to Rome. Athens. Cairo. Southern Europe is well within reach. London and Paris are further, but don’t sleep too well either.
This is not what Tehran told anyone their missiles could do. So either they’ve been lying, or the intelligence community has been spectacularly wrong. Possibly both.
One missile failed mid-flight, which is the kind of thing that happens when you build intercontinental weapons in a country that can’t keep the lights on. The other was shot down by a U.S. warship with an SM-3 interceptor, which Trump has already counted as winning the war. For the third time.
Now here’s the bit nobody wants to say out loud: the strike came hours after Britain’s Keir Starmer gave Washington permission to use Diego Garcia to bomb Iranian missile sites. So Iran bombed the base we lent them. With a missile nobody knew they had.
The war just acquired a completely new dimension. And the man in the White House is busy declaring victory.
Iran decides when this stops. Not him.

@XFreeze Isaac Newton did. There is a difference in the amount of mass. The feather and the hammer have a different mass, and in relation to the mass of the moon, it is only too small to measure. Gravity depends on the mass relation to 2 different masses.
English

During the Apollo 15 mission, astronaut David Scott dropped a hammer and a feather at the same time and they hit the ground together
On Earth the feather would fall slowly because of air drag, but on the Moon, with nothing to slow it down, both objects fall purely under gravity and land simultaneously
The Moon has almost no atmosphere, which means there’s essentially no air resistance
Galileo theorized this in the 1600s
Apollo 15 proved it on live TV

@kiloalphalima16 @BillOReilly But apparently the Court ruling affirmed the President's authority to set tariffs under various other statutes. So, when done under those statutes, which is what they plan, the President is authorized whether it's a tax or not. I'm not arguing pro/con tariffs, just explaining
English

@BillOReilly If u believe POTUS has the power to deploy Tariffs at his whim as trump does u have to believe tariffs are not a tax. I've not heard one evonomist or expert claim otherwise. Ironically trump admits tariffs are a tax once he started discussing paying the money back to US companies

This column will attempt to do the impossible: make the Trump/Supreme Court situation understandable and interesting.
If you want to be socially shunned, bring up the tariff controversy in any gathering. Eyes will glaze over, even your friends will excuse themselves.
Nevertheless, we are undaunted.
President Trump believes that economic pressure on foreign countries can protect the USA from dangerous behavior. China is the best example. Carrot and stick. If Beijing doesn’t promote chaos, it gets better trade opportunities in America.
If it misbehaves, the Trump administration imposes tariff penalties, thereby harming China’s economy.

@NotTheSameDood @JimmysSeafood Except that they didn't show the 1980 game on live tv. It was tape delayed

@JimmysSeafood It was worth getting up at 7:55 on a Sunday morning to watch it! I watched the 1980 team do the same thing on live TV. Both are great lifetime memories.

@EKev708 @heatherellaxo Yeah but you need perspective sometimes.
Most had NE winning around 6 games. They won’t 14 and made the Super Bowl.

Florida's Halo Law, effective January 1, 2025, establishes a 25-foot "no-go" zone around first responders (including police, firefighters, and paramedics) to prevent interference, threats, or harassment. Individuals who enter this zone after being given a verbal warning face a second-degree misdemeanor, which can result in up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine. The law was passed to protect first responders, but some civil liberties groups have expressed concerns that it could hinder the public's ability to record officers.
Distance Requirement: After receiving a verbal warning from a first responder (law enforcement, firefighter, or paramedic) engaged in their official duties, you must immediately retreat and maintain a distance of at least 25 feet.
Prohibited Intent: It is a second-degree misdemeanor to approach or remain within the 25-foot buffer zone with the intent to block, interfere with, threaten, or harass the first responder.
