As someone who enjoys playing around with technology, I’m looking forward to trying @Classroomscreen this week! I think the various widgets will be super handy, especially since some of them encourage kids to interact with the board. #RiseAsOne

7th graders finished their characterization analysis posters today! We will be doing a gallery walk activity on Monday on evidence, character traits, and story impact. #RiseAsOne

With our new Devil Time sessions through the @SolutionTree PLC process, 8th graders have the extra opportunity to prepare for their cold-read test today by working with a mini cold-read with me. #RiseAsOne

8th graders have been asking questions about future discussions since they enjoyed them last year. We will be reviewing our Accountable Talk norms through a mini Accountable Talk with our psychology text “The Complexity of Fear.” #RiseAsOne

7th graders presented their dystopian worlds after reading dystopian literature. They had to include four dystopian elements and narrative elements in their world and story outline for an assigned dystopian scenario. #RiseAsOne

8th graders preparing for their Socratic Seminar on The Outsiders while listening to 50s/60s music! I’m excited to hear their insights on the open-ended, debatable questions along with their questions they generate. #RiseAsOne

7th and 8th graders used #Writable to write their narrative essays and anonymously peer review narratives. They were able to review engaging narratives while enjoying some spring time candy. #RiseAsOne

8th graders reviewed some tough questions through a review game the incorporated Connect 4. They love having a competition, and some were playing some serious defense! 7th graders have their turn tomorrow. #RiseAsOne

8th wrote poems with metaphor dice,but I added another element to help them understand the process writers go through when crafting a poem, especially when it comes to analyzing poetry in MC questions.They had analysis&rationale questions similar to MC questions. #RiseAsOne
