Plastic has become a part of our every daily life. Unfortunately, they are destroying many habitats, especially in the ocean. Continuous efforts to reduce this waste is vital to preserve these habitats and the life of many species. #EM203Research #EM203Mueller

@GeorgeMonbiot George, with many communities focused on rapid expansion by means of land development, at what point will they realize the consequences of these actions? This has the potential to disrupt the food chain which can come back to hurt us in the end!

The Number One environmental task is to minimise agricultural sprawl, which is the world's greatest cause of habitat loss. Food should be used to feed humans, not cars, and land not required for growing food should be set aside for wildlife.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group for British Bioethanol has learnt NOTHING from 15 years of biofuel disasters. No, bioethanol is not the answer. The answers include electric mass transit, cycling, walking and a massive reduction in private car use. bbc.co.uk/news/science-e…

@pierrewildlife Pierre, what do you think can be done at this point to help protect the Cuban basslet from extinction? Removal efforts perhaps?

Described to science in 2010, the Cuban basslet (Gramma dejongi) may be in serious trouble because of habitat loss and predation by the invasive lionfish. So far, its IUCN status remains "Data Defficient".

@joelsartore @officialdwazoo Joel, do you see this type of ability from many other species? This would definitely provide some hope given the decreasing population rates for many species.

This vibrant beauty is a male lesser bird-of-paradise @officialdwazoo. Native to New Guinea, these birds are experiencing population declines due to habitat loss, but they have shown an ability to adapt to human-modified environments, suggesting that hope remains for the future.

Hi @EM203CChristof one problem that you could address in your concept map is how overpopulation will continue to suck the world dry of its abundant resources #em203problems

Hi @EM203Adrian! After looking at your concept map, I think a problem you could discuss is how excessive video game playing could translate to real violence. This is because younger children may have more difficulty distinguishing reality from fantasy. #EM203Problems
