Hello @CeceSpitznas, I was wondering what your opinion on Polarization in America was and what you think people can do in their everyday life to combat it? I know personally my biggest challenge is not letting emotions effect my political thoughts. #EM203 #EM203Robin

This info graphic from Evan Hoffman shows the effects of Political Polarization in America. With compromise between the parties no longer being available people are doomed to be divided.

Political Polarization has gotten worse since 2004 and this has caused a rise in divisiveness in the United States. The only way to counter this is to treat people as individuals and not as representatives of a party and also analyse the polarization within ourselves.

theconversation.com/political-pola… Political Polarization is costing many around the world the ability to reason with or even just entertain people with differing views. Polarization can be felt everywhere from covid, to the economy and many other issues being faced to day.

There’s so much on our minds and in our hearts! My favorite thing about music is how it reminds us that we’re not alone. This performance for the #BETAwards touched me deeply. What did u feel?

EM203 has been very interesting so far especially as the current state of the world has most people learning and working online. I enjoyed studying Learning by Doing with my group especially since I am a musician and learn instruments by doing! #EM203Robin

@BlainBritt I agree with you on the use of twitter allowing social connections to reinforce learning. I never knew how much I could learn by just talking on twitter but it allows me to be exposed to many more ideas that I would have without it.

Digital technology like Twitter heavily relies on social connections for it to be of any value. It is only through time and immersion for this understanding to be achieved. This course is teaching me how social media like Twitter can be used for many different reasons #EM203Robin

@EM203JJ I agree with your comment about adjusting my study habits. After realizing how much being distracted impacts my learning I will now be adjusting my studying to reduce them.

@Em203Adam I agree with this course opening my eyes as well. I really had no idea how learning can be more than just lectures and textbooks. Hopefully we can see these styles implemented in the future.

In the first few lessons of #EM203Robin I have learned about different learning theories (behaviourism) and insight into why multi-tasking can be detrimental to my own learning. This course has already opened my eyes to different learning styles and learning in a "digital age."

@EM203BLe Thanks for going over the point that using multi media in this generation is part of improving over only using books and lectures in the past. Hopefully with the internet and multi media education can become more accessible and efficient.

The first three lessons of this course has taught me a lot. For example, our generation does not use the internet anymore than our older generations. Furthermore learners in the digital age use multi-media to learn instead of just books like our parents did. #EM203Robin

@EM203NMcCurbin I completely agree with the statement than humans are not designed to learn with all the distractions we have around us. Hopefully in the future we can find a balance between the distractions and benefits of the internet.

In the first weeks of EM203 I've learned that, although 21st century learning has prioritized multi-tasking environments, humans are not designed to learn in such environments. This results in cognitive overload, resulting in a weakened ability to absorb information! #EM203Robin

In the first 3 Lessons of EM203 I learned about how the internet can enable learning, constructivism theory and how multitasking can harm retention. These lessons have shown me how learning can be helped and harmed by the internet. Looking forward to lesson 4. #EM203Robin
