Week 7 post: 30% of Canadian adults have been identified as obese within the past few years. Barriers to healthy food and exercise are beyond the hands of the individual. I believe that it is time to look at how the government’s policies are at play. #EM203Robin #EM203Problem

Hi @DrPlantel! I was wondering if you could explain some of the misconceptions regarding the causes of rise of obesity in Canada. It would be a great help as I am looking to research more into this trending issue.😀

This was a picture I found on the Government of Canada website relating to the issue of rising obesity rates in Canada by demonstrating how it's increased and how we can bring these numbers down. #EM203

This picture represents an upstream solution to this issue, as Canada has started to provide more recreational/ green spaces in places that have little access to them.

@EM203AJacob I agree! I find that by being able to discuss with our peers, we discover different perspectives on how content is perceived which enhances our learning!

@AyseAras203 It's kind of crazy how each generation becomes more reliant on technology as time passes. But what this course has taught me so far is how although this is true, technology is a big part of learning strategies now that can further develop thinking skills.

The first three lessons in the EM203 courses have started to teach me more about learning theories, specifically for digital learning. The content has been interesting and I'm looking forward to more tasks! #EM203Robin

@Gurleen85785511 I think that this is a very important aspect to consider with learning styles. I find that some people like a little noise to study while others require complete silence to focus. Overall it was a very interesting experiment!

Conducted a memory experiment with and without distractions. With music, a movie, and family chatter, recall was harder. In silence, remembering was much easier. It showed me how important a distraction free environment is for studying! #EM203robin

@Em203Kavi Hi Kavi! I agree that this class is very interesting as it also brings you to make connections to the content. I find that multi-model learning is very effective as someone who is a visual and kinesthetic learner.

@em203kfiolleau This is so funny! I tried this too and learned that although it is a little pricey, it's worth learning something new. Who knows, maybe now you can master the technique and teach others how to make a matcha latte in the best way!

Today I learned how to make my Matcha Latte at home, where I spend $40 on the Matcha, $30 on a bamboo whisk, and $10 on my sifter.... That'll really help me save on the $5 Matcha Latte.... #EM203Robin

This class has taught us how technology is not all bad, it enhances creativity and opportunity for collaborating with others! Constructivism ties into this! Successful learning is based on: -Personal connection to content 🤔 - Collaboration 👯‍♀️ - Self Reflection 🧐 #EM203Robin
