As consumers we can dictate the amount of waste we are to willing to produce. Each step of the consumer process provides an opportunity for us to act environmentally responsible and reduce waste. #ReduceTheWaste #ConsumerWasteManagement

There are many different ways to manage our waste as consumers. This graphic outlines the idea of a circular economy in which consumers’ willingness to properly eliminate their waste or lengthen product use results in the initial raw materials being given a longer life cycle.

Waste has a negative impact on our environment. The main problem is that waste on a consumer level is growing & our environmental state is worsening as a result of it. The process of eliminating this waste is threatening our environment & ecosystems. #EM203Robin #EM203Problem

Food waste occurs mainly in agricultural production and at a consumption level. The impact of this waste has major affects on our environment and the people within it. #EM203Robin #EM203Research

@EliseMason1985 It’s crazy how much waste can come from something as simple as drinking water, reusable water bottles are just one necessary step to reduce waste in our daily lives!

@jayhesl Before I started actively looking at waste in my daily life it was difficult to discover the abundant use of plastics in the world around me. How did you discover single use plastics to be an issue in the biomanufacturing process?

@EM203ashleybaum Great tweet! The learn by doing theory is interesting as it can often apply theoretical knowledge in a hands-on learning setting. I think that combination is one that can work for many people!

The past 3 weeks has been an extremely educational experience. I have enjoyed learning about Learning by Doing. The main goal of this learning style is to have students learn in an unstructured way as they get to have hands on experiences. Can't wait to keep learning! #EM203Robin

@em203erindunn I also really enjoyed the multitasking experiment. I believed that I was just as efficient or even more efficient when I was multitasking, but this experiment helped me open my eyes to acknowledge that what I thought may not always be true.

@EM203TTanga I think the technology that we have now creates a learning platform in which information is easy to access. This breaks down global barriers as the same information that is placed on the internet in one area or country can be accessed in an entirely different region!

@MKamel_Em203 I couldn’t agree more! The use of infographics brings information to people quickly and in a way that is easy to understand and process. The ease of information processing then allows individuals to be able to spot trends and patterns, as you stated above.

The past three weeks of EM203 have exemplified that through the use of resources and different learning theories, the process of acquiring knowledge can be tailored to the strengths of the learner and the context in which they find themselves. Excited to learn more! #EM203Robin
