While affluent families may be able to afford solutions like starting their own mini-classrooms and hiring teachers, most middle- and low-income families have few to no options. @jackiemader ow.ly/PUV550ANQnZ

Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children
The growing debate about re-opening schools needs to consider the rights of children as a priority. A rights-based approach focuses attention on equitable treatment to ensure children with particular needs or living in challenging circumstances can also develop their potential.

@CWP_CSP For my #EM203 course at Wilfrid Laurier University I need to tweet an expert to gain insight into an issue. I have been passionately researching how poverty can impact a child's education. How can we close the gaps between children in education?

Here is a photo I found about the poverty cycle. It is clear that it is a constant cycle that is hard to diverge from once already inside.

@EM203sfrantzke great job on your mind map on the gender wage gap! You had tons of great details, but I think one aspect that you could expand on is the way this affects families and children, especially in single mother homes. #EM203problems

@EM203Lengyell Hi Natalie! I couldn't agree more! This course is very eye opening to the impact that technology has on learning, and the role that social media plays in that.

I have found that so far this course has done an incredible job at mirroring the vast impacts that the development of social media and technology has had on contemporary society and how the systematic function of processing information has changed! #EM203Robin

@EM203Emma_R Hi Emma! It's amazing how easy it is to learn new things in this digital age, and for use to be able to connect with each other online! Using a few words is something we are not always used to, so adjusting to that is both challenging and exciting.

@FelcenE Hi Nicole! Risk taking is definitely necessary when we are exposed to so many new ways of learning. I know I definitely need to take some risks when I discover new platforms and learn how to navigate through them.

Up till now EM203 has provided me a series of new approaches to learning in the digital age! With this, risk taking becomes necessary when it involves multitasking whether that be through my study habits or shifting through various media platforms. #EM203Robin

Throughout the first three weeks of this course we have learned about a variety of learning styles, tasks, and skills. This has been an eyeopener as it has allowed me to reflect on my own learning skills and enhanced my understanding of learning in the digital age! #EM203Robin

In the first 3 lessons, I have learned more about the digital age and how it influences how we learn. I was especially interested in the multi-tasking exercise, as I always tend to think I am a good multitasker. Update: I'm not! #EM203Robin
