Did you know?
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP) is a floating vortex of debris in the North Pacific Ocean. It spans 1.6 million square kilometers (or over 600,000 square miles) from California to Japan with Hawaii in the middle.
Let’s clean it up!
A country has been born out of trash. The Great Pacific garbage patch, a region in the Pacific Ocean that is twice the size of France and filled with plastic waste, has become an unofficial member of the United Nations.

“One out of five children live in extreme poverty, and the nautica effects of poverty and deprivation in the early years have ramifications that can last a lifetime”. Helping children grow up to be successful is important. #EM203Robin#EM203Research
theoceancleanup.com is a great website to learn about how to take part in the ocean cleanup as well as how this organization takes out the plastic from oceans and rivers. #EM203Robin
“the great pacific garbage patch estimated surface area of 1.6 million square kilometres and area 3x the size of Uganda and contains more than 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic” we need to reduce the amount of plastic we use! #EM203Robin#EMResearch
education.nationalgeographic.org/resource/great… describes what the Great Pacific Garbage patch is and how all the collected plastic effects the sea-life along with how we are trying to minimize the effects of the garbage island by spreading awareness about the issue #EM203Research
@EM203jfinch I like the topic you chose. I would touch more on social committees perhaps that assist with ocean litter pickups or a lack thereof. I like your use of colours.
@EM203adampaps the NHL is a broad topic as the each division can represent different issues. The debate of the warm-up jerseys can be discussed as there are several perspectives on this issue and was a large debate in recent years #em203problems
@EM203hquerney there is a lot of stigma when it comes to people with dyslexia and constant discrimination towards them due to their learning style. They are unfairly treated and judged in society even though they have equal potential for success #em203problems
@Matt462795 I like the topic you chose as many of us have experienced school being overwhelming. Rather than talking about only experiences of students, looking at resources or programs students can find to help minimize their stress can be beneficial to your topic #em203problems
@EM203JoshuaHenh I liked reading your concept map on your topic of education. One issue that you can further dive into is the quality of teaching as in some places they have a lack of teachers which can effect students learning standard #em203problems
@EM203DNguyen I agree, I have always just read lesson notes or completed readings for different classes, but never really thought about different learning techniques and their impact on how we retain information. It’s interesting to learn about learning environments and their impact digitally.
I have never really thought about how I was learning. Reading how people learn really put into perspective how much information I am consuming on a day-to-day basis and how I react to the information. So cool! #EM203Robin
@kpatton29 I also was able to learn about connectivism with my group members and I liked reading everyone else’s opinions on this learning theory. Technology is so prominent in our society which makes it interesting to learn about how it can help us learn new things.
@EM203nalve I also found the 3 M’s interesting to learn about, especially since many people only like to talk about the pros of new learning techniques even if it can hinder individuals learning if not done correctly.
The first three lessons of EM203 have been very interesting! This week I explored how the incorporation of the 3 M’s in 21st century learning has both pros and cons. While it promotes engagement, it may hinder learning when there is too much happening simultaneously! #EM203Robin
@Jacobkonopka21 I am also excited to see what we learn in the upcoming weeks of this semester. It has been really interesting seeing the impact that technology has within learning environments.
The past 3 classes of the course have been very interesting. I have learned many new techniques to studying and connecting with others. I’m excited to see what the rest of the semester brings!

@EM203JBenipal I agree Jasroop as this course has furthered my knowledge on how technology has a great impact on our learning and how we can use this digital environment to learn new topics.
I have really enjoyed the first 3 lessons so far and find that it has helped me understand how to use technology for collaborative, critical and creative learning. I look forward to learning more in this course! #EM203Robin
The last 3 weeks of class have been very interesting as I discovered new ways of learning and its importance to our success as students. I have developed an understanding of various learning techniques and why using them with my school work is crucial. #EM203Robin
