@EM203mmanning With added stresses of social isolation and financial worries, domestic violence is increasing and escalating during the pandemic. Throughout COVID-19, women who have come to us have experienced more layered trauma and require more mental supports than before.
@WomensCrisisSWR Thank you very much for your quick response. This subject is so important to talk about and so much work still needs to be done by everybody in our community. Your efforts are always appreciated here in KW. Thank you #EM203
@WomensCrisisSWR as professionals working with women, what is the most significant change you have seen in women's mental health since the beginning of the pandemic? What can young women do to prevent it?
@KarimMamdani I am a student at Laurier University looking for information about mental health during the pandemic. Have there been any significant trends you have observed in the mental health of Ontarians as a professional during this pandemic?
This site is relevant to my topic/issue that I am researching about women’s mental health in Canada. The site outlines studies observing the perception of women on their own mental health, and the societal impacts on women’s mental wellness. capitalcurrent.ca/twice-as-many-…#EM203Research
@EM203_iulia an issue that connects to your MindMap is the effects of decisions from board to teachers and then from teachers to students. In other words, the necessary relationships between each stakeholder. #EM203problems
@EM203MCrozzoli after looking at your mindmap, a problem in relation to Men's Mental Health is the societal pressure to suppress their emotions. There are many branches that stem from this/can connect to this. #EM203problems
@treffry12 a problem when discussing the topic of obesity is finding a causal interaction, or if there is one at all. There are so many variables that can affect weight/size like eating habits and life stresses. #EM203problems
@EM203JAtin There are many problem results that occur once one is diagnosed with Diabetes. Consequences like lifestyle changes, daily testing, doctor appointments, constant surveillance, etc. Great subject! #EM203problems
@EM203_MichelleK Hi Michelle! I also enjoy learning-by-doing and agree that that lesson was very fun. I learned how to write more fluently in cursive... although not very well. I wish more courses offered active/physical lesson activities like that one.
@Em203Katherine Hi Katherine! I agree that this 21st-century tech era has a big influence on education today and in future years. I am excited to learn more about the changes in childhood learning and how online learning can influence us overall.
The first three weeks of EM203 have taught me more about the digital age and how it has evolved. I really enjoyed learning about how the internet has changed how we learn. I am really looking forward to the upcoming modules! #EM203Robin
@LeeEm203 Hey Evan! I believe we were in the same group researching behaviourism. Having learned about this theory in classes prior to this one as well, I agree that it is very interesting. Fun to learn a bit more each time I read up on it and think about how it applies to children today.
Last week I had the opportunity to read about behaviourism as it relates to learning and the effects of stimulus which influence learned responses over time. Super interesting stuff. #EM203Robin
@em203mackenzie Hi Mackenzie, it is great to hear that I was not alone in not knowing what to expect from a course titled "Learn 280 Characters or Less". I am excited to see what new theories we learn and can apply in our own education.
When beginning the course #EM203Robin I had no idea what we were going to be learning. But now over the past three weeks, I have gained very useful knowledge. I have now realized how useful The 3M’s are in our daily life. I can’t wait for whats to come in the course.
@em203christina Hi Christina! I agree with you about the importance of digital knowledge in this growing tech society. I am excited to see how this has and will change educational systems in the future.
With the progression of the 21st century, the digital age has only expanded. Digital knowledge is extremely useful and important to this generation. I am only 3 weeks in to this course, yet I have already learned different strategies, tools, and learning theories! #EM203Robin
Just completed the 3rd lesson of the course and have been pleasantly surprised by the pro-active tasks in the lesson notes. Fun and interesting #EM203Robin
