Yesterday, one of our responders reunited a public access defib with its custodian, allowing it to be put back into service. If you're custodian of a public access defib that's been taken, contact us. We'll work with @EMASNHSTrust to retrieve it and make it rescue-ready again.

UPDATE ON INCIDENT: We can confirm that a substance found inside business premises in Baxter Gate is not believed to be hazardous. Cordons and road closures which were put in place to keep the public safe have since been lifted. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.

@EMASNHSTrust My 93 Year old mother in-law fell this morning receiving severe neck pain and head injury (bruising) and other injuries rang 999 told 6 hr wait for ambulance 8 hrs later still no ambulance no fast response car turned up disgusting service priorities all wrong

Between midnight & 7am on New Year's Day, we received 1,122 calls-a 16% increase compared to last year. By the end of the day EMAS handled 4,084 calls - equivalent to one call every 21 seconds. Demand remains high. Please visit 111 online for advice if not life-threatening.
